Hi,

Went to baby fair and find out that other than the conventional steam steriliser, there is this waterless steriliser - UV sterilizer.

So far i have come accross 2 brands in the baby fair which is Coby, and Upangs.

May i know if any mummies bought? Any review?

U onli use it max 2years per child. issit really worth ittt. ill jus get d normal steriliser for rm1xx-3xx

Plan to have more than 1 baby then it worth the price?

I gotten my UV steriliser from 11street (link here Coby UV Bottle Sterilizer - Blue The best thing is can use installment, cause outside shops don't accept installment. So far using it Day 2, I feel it's better than my Avent wet steriliser.

i never used sterilizer. just washed properly and once in a while boil the bottle and teat. nothing beats boiling the bottle. but actually its not that necessary as long as you properly clean it. killing off 99.99% of all bacteria or germs is not necessarily a good thing...

In what way is it better?

For me it's more of a convenience thing rather than effectiveness. With sterilizer, you can just turn the thing off and leave it till the next time you want to use it. With boiling, you have to be aware of the cook fire, and after done you have to put all the utensils away.

I guess. But this take up space. For me I try not to be too clean. Children need to be exposed to bacteria. So boiling the stuff once a week or even at wider intervals haha.

TS, uPpang got accesories to buy where CobyUV did not say they have accesories to change the UV or IR light.

I bought uPang and its convenient that u get less water and dont have to take it out and place on a rack to dry and become a storage box when you need them.

indeed, yes.. very convenient.

Using coby too. Can sterile toys, that is why I choose this.

i suppose in practicality, you will most likely end up not using it to sterilize toys in the same box u use for milk bottle and pump.

sterilize toys.... nice... i used only that spray and wipe but UV sounds cool

Only sterilizing dry items is 15 mins. Dry and sterilize is 15 mins. Only drying is 15 mins. 3 function modes for you to choose

My wife and I were thinking about getting one. But....those things are very expensive! You will keep buying new bottles every few months anyways. Plus, nothing beats the good old boiled water.
