Donald Trump outlines policy plan for first 100 days
Washington (CNN)President-elect Donald Trump unveiled plans Monday for his first 100 days in office, including proposals related to immigration, trade deals and defense policy, using a video published online to briefly outline his proposals.
Trump promised to withdraw from negotiations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, cancel environmental restrictions put in place by President Barack Obama, ask his national security team to buttress against infrastructure attacks, have the Labor Department investigate federal worker visas and impose broad new bans on lobbying by government employees.
The six items Trump detailed Monday are all somewhat easy lifts inside Washington -- because they can be done with a simple signature by Trump and do not require congressional approval.

planning to do defensive portfolio (reduce EQ increase CMF)??

affinhwang is doing that for their bond funds....
"Strategically, our defensive stance is maintained for the interim across our fixed income portfolios. We intend to stay vigilant on market developments, and upon sensing a calm in the market, we will look to redeploy cash into bonds."

Malaysia is noted to have the highest household-debt-to-GDP ratio in Asia. Household savings, which is a major component of financial resilience, on the other hand, is low.
The country’s household-debt-to-GDP ratio rose to 89.1% last year, from 87.4% in 2014. It remains significantly higher than that of Indonesia at 17% and Singapore at around 60%.
As it is, many are living from hand to mouth, with their ‘heads just above the water’, they will be in crisis if the economy slows down further and this can cause major social problems for the country,” he says, noting that the potential social instability will depend on how long and deep the slowdown will last.

Time is money, the way I see this particular fund manager is that she has been too comfortable managing Malaysian funds. The various A H funds in Asia Pacific region have more or less the same theme and heavy Malaysian exposure. I doubt she will do anything drastic to the composition. If I switch to A H World Equity now, I can come back to the same fund 6 months or more later. I don't see what is the downside.

tried to do some googling before asking this and someone said it's like comparing apples to oranges while some have said there is slight correlation.

BTW I fiddled with my portfolio and it's various allocation for next year. I came up with this.

RHB Asian Income Fund. ....(30%)

CIMB-P Greater China Equity .....(20%)

CIMB-P Asia Pac (ponzi 2.0) ......(20%)

Manulife India.........(15%)

TA Global Technology Fund... (10%)

AmAsia REITs .... (5%)

what do you guys think of this for the upcoming year portfolio rebalancing.

currently I have Anita and Kapchai (only Malaysian expisure) and just keep them as status quo by just leaving the money i have with them or full withdraw and jump back when it recovers?

all this to be done in January-Febuary

yr top 3 funds from the list covers about 40% of Greater China regions in your portfolio....heavy betting in that region bruce.gif

yes,....I would add some KGF.....
increase Amasia reits and reduce the CIMB greater China Equities....

I chicken ...I would consider the 3 years volatility % when allocating to some region/segment focused funds

no thanks. Malaysia is going side ways and first thing they threw out was being honest about it on Day 1 of Trump shock by limiting US exchange then flip flop about it with local banks and recently stated their foreign reserves increased when it was known they injected their foreign reserves to save the currency.

we will find out our true foreign reserves before the end of the year and I stuff like this makes me jittery about investing in Malaysia.

PS I can leave Malaysian exposure to my epf to handle so it's all good

well bro. just take solace that you aren't majority of the sheep Malaysians who aren't aware about the sickness that our country is in and it's better to be prepping for worst case scenario when shit goes sideways and know that your portfolio contains the necessary arrangements to tide you over during a recession.
