QUOTE(vincabby @ Dec 15 2016, 08:03 AM) 0.25%. Now US rates are at 0.75% up from 0.5% previously. But the think is the market were expecting 2x next year, the Feds went and say 3x. A 0.25% msy not be much but it will cause more money to flow in US as those people with "hot money" sees higher interest in US is good for their return. |

QUOTE(2387581 @ Dec 14 2016, 10:52 PM) http://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/moneymarket.asp - this is where you park your cash while you wait for opportunities. This is also where the proceeds usually go when you sell a fund. |

Eunittrust model portfolio move equity to money market mostly We are raising our cash position across all model portfolio as we think that the US equity market current behaviour seems to reflect investment behaviour leading up to the potential tax cuts. President-elect Donald Trump proposal of a tax cut would be one of the highly anticipated event upon his inauguration on 21 Jan 2017. Thus, we are anticipating investors to partake in the profit taking activity beginning next year and similarly, other markets will also experience similar market movement as witness back in 1978-1979 (please refer to appendix page). As such, we are raising our cash to buy on weakness later on. What you all think? This post has been edited by kl_123: Dec 15 2016, 10:54 AM |

In terms of FSM platform winding up if it ever occurs.chances of losing invested monies due to DIY or chances of being cheated or FSM platform being sort of just a Ponzi scheme? or what do you mean by "safe"? QUOTE(adele123 @ Dec 14 2016, 10:16 PM) https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/faq/1...-and-Safety-230 Am amazed as well at the amount of respondents.part of the FAQ you should read. not noob, valid question although FAQ is there. if word of mouth is what you need, i guess the number of respondents here are a fairly good number? |

QUOTE(puchongite @ Dec 15 2016, 11:10 AM) All of them heavy on phillip money market. Where is the place where one can find the performance of phillip money market ? The phillip money market is at flat RM 0.50 forever. Meaning this is only a place for temporary hideout. Might as well sell off them all, cash out and come back later. |

Eunit trust suggest increase cash holding(so they move portfolio to philip MM) because they are anticipating investors to partake in the profit taking activity beginning next year, then to buy on weakness later on...This post has been edited by kl_123: Dec 15 2016, 12:32 PM |

But Malaysia isn't a nice place to hide. Both MY equity and MY bond are going to be bad or worse, if the proposed tax cut ever happens. Holding cash in Phillip MM is also terrible. Might as well move everything to Affin Hwang select bond or something, which is currently 0% SC under their platform. Or perhaps even cash out to Banks, at least that will generate some interest. No ? |

Philip MM is just like FSM RHB CMF2 , enjoy the 3.x% per annual while wait for next opportunity to go in equity...this is their recommendation from what i understand |

A few questions:
Is anyone using FSM's Regular Savings Plan? Is it sensible to you guys to keep on putting small amounts of investments regardless of price and market conditions? Is intra-RHB fund switching going to cost RM25 per switch? What about inter-house switching? |
