2 newbie questions:

1) how to tell what version of game that I am playing, whether it's USA or EUR?
2) if I have USA version of game and my friend has EUR, can we still play together via ad-hoc?

1) Most of EUR games have language selection (English, France, Germany..etc)
2) Some of them can...but most of them cannot.

to read PDF, you can install Irshell because it has Bookr plugin built-in or you can also use standalone Bookr app..

Instead of plugging the default earphones into the controller, you can plug in desktop speakers into it (that's if the slim and the fat PSP's earphones are of the same mechanism).

Yup. Unless you have some accessories which can replace the controller's job (not sure of its existence) and act as a converter..

Yes you can directly plug in external speakers to the PSP provided it's the Green 3.5" jack.

Er.. Battery-wise, I don't know much.. Sorry..

Erm, the 3.5mm jack is the one used by desktop speakers.. On the other hand, you have another jack which is 2.5mm (which is obviously smaller) used by mobile phone earphones..

Ya, I know about the 3.5mm jack, but green colour?

desktop ports are now coloured for noobies.easy setup and identifying. and if u look at ur computer speaker or port or laptop speaker port,they are green in color. ok? just the convensional earphone type 3.5mm jack can be plugged into the psp.
and for the controller,i'm afraid there are no other type of controller.i tried with my MD controller and the port are not same.

It's standardised as Green but as long you can output sound through it then it's fine no matter what colour it is.

Okay, I shall try it later after I get back to my university. Now my speaker is hidden in somewhere, difficult to take it out.
