Hello everyone, I believe nowadays there are many people in Malaysia would like to migrate to Australia as skilled workers or some even have lived in Australia for years as permanent resident (PR).
I believe many of them are active in Lowyat forum too, so I like to create this topic here for everyone who like to know more about migrating to Australia. As we know Australia government is changing their migration policy every year that's why many people are confused about their migration criteria. Different kind of occupations have different kind of requirements, it also depends on which state are you applying to migrate.
For example, what kind of issues have you faced when applying for migration? What kind of visa you applying for? What agency are you using? Are they good in providing service and advice?
If you don't mind please share you migration story here no matter you are applying, planning to apply, or even you are already a permanent resident or Australia citizen. We would like to know more stories of different kind of people from different kind of background.
Yes, the rules are constantly changing and it's hard to keep track of these changes.I believe many of them are active in Lowyat forum too, so I like to create this topic here for everyone who like to know more about migrating to Australia. My advise, go to a few (not one) agent - get their advise specific to your situation and circumstances (esp the industry you are in).
Talk to family and friends who are already in Aus, better still if you have people whom you know who are in the same industry.
Pay a visit (holiday) for a couple of weeks to the place you intend to settle in - see if you like the people, culture, weather, etc (bearing in mind that there is a different being a tourist vs resident).
Ensure that you have enough buffer to come across. Decide if you want to go all in (i.e. sell off your house and move the whole family across) or keep one-leg still in Malaysia just in case you'd really don't like it.
Pray (if you are religious) about the move.
And then - take that leap of faith!
Good luck
