i'm interested to know whether I can buy those oem version separately without purchasing any new pc.Actually I just bought one new laptop last month and that package which I bought was out of OS,so now I'm using XP which I had.But I really want to install Vista,so could I get those OEM versions from resellers? What will be the price for home premier?

QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Feb 4 2007, 09:17 AM) By law, no. OEM is supposed to be shipped (or rather pre-installed) with a new computer hardware only but on the other hand, there are a lot of hardware resellers to sell out those OEM-edition windows,so we saw that there has such markets because most of consumers don't know or don't care about what is the type of the software at all.And actually for my sense, the OEM version can cheaper a lot than retail one. what we only need to consider is how is your computer's mainboard quality as the OEM version will follow the mainboard after you first time install, thus it cannot be actived by other computer or different mainboard.(conclusion from other ppls as well).

QUOTE(k.incognito @ Feb 4 2007, 12:23 PM) Got it from the Cycom booth outside Low Yat. if the price is accurate, then it is damn cheap...compared with those XP,it is only RM20-50 more......And i'm waiting for somebody who has installed the new Vista to share the practical experience.
