Thanks for the suggestion. Will keep it in mind.
How do you think of YongNuo 50mm f1.8 lens? Read a little bit about it & it seems quite comparable to Nikon's version of it with some minor inferiority.
I have seen few friends of mine using Tamron 18-200mm. There I spark the desire to get an all-rounder lens.

Back in the day with d40x I dont even dare to go over 800 ISO....
need to familiarise myself with the new toy now, only gotten it less than a month ago

lets just say i rather get a used nikon 50mm f1.8D than the YN50mm f1.8 new.

I tend to shoot RAW when I think it's in critical time where I am sure I need to PP it.

Maybe my skills are not that good enough to bring out the potential of RAW kut..

The last time I tried with RAW was during stargrazing with kit lens & tripod with longest possible shutter time possible. Even I PP it, I cant get an good image of galaxy from my D40x. I tried my Gf's EOS 600d and with the similar setting & PP, it does produce a decent photo for me.

Anyone know how much to replace d700 shutter? Just back from long hiatus from photography 4-5year.

Just Brought used d700(160ksc+8gb)+50mm 1.8g for 1500 and d200+11-16 tokina with 16gb, lowepro bag for Rm700. Ya.. I buy all old camera tongue.gif

I have a Tamron 18-200mm i bought back in 2011/2 when I got my D5100. I think i shot less than 500 pics on it.

1) Its bulky as expected (ok not really a complaint)
2) At 200mm its shaky, so its difficult to get a steady shot.
3) Image sharpness is ... sigh.

If you got a steady hand/carry tripod everywhere, and if you post process your pics a lot, then this lens maybe can use.

Goshh. I should just stay away from it then.. my hand is not that steady & with my new body, I need some time to let my muscle to familiarize with it haha.

My gf got me a Yong Nuo 50mm prime lens. So far so good, a huge advantage during shots in low light and I'm trying to get used to it. icon_idea.gif
