Hi all, just bought a subsale house, planning about the CCTV system now. Previously thought of buying eufycam + solar, but after the privacy news and rethinking about budget, seems like not the way to go.

The plan is to have 2 outdoor front, 1 outdoor back, 1 indoor. Must be able to connect to homekit (natively even better, but if not then will connect through homebridge/scrypted).

I will buy a budget PC to run homebridge anyway and set up as a media server/NAS, so can involve that if needed.

Would appreciate any recommendation for cameras and how I should go about it.

1. Since only 4, should I go the wifi route and ask electrician to install power points? And each can store video in their own SD card.

2. Should I instead go for DVR / NVR system?

3. Should I go with one of the suggestions few posts above, turn the budget PC into NVR? Will that make it incapable of running my homebridge and media server?

CCTV that can link to homekit are limited.
May be u can consider conventional cctv with RTSP, then pull the RTSP feeds from the camera or decoder straight into Homebridge.

If can lay cable, better pull CAT6 LAN cable from camera to decoder.

DVR or NVR both ok, all big brand system support RTSP, e.g.: HIKVISION, DAHUA.

Thanks! Guess that will be the route to go! notworthy.gif
