Hi guys,
I'm surveying for CCTV, I saw plenty of comparison on Google for Analog vs. IP, both got pros and cons. What is still the suggested method?
Thanks!
How to decide the type of CCTV you need?, Security System - CCTV

QUOTE(vignesh77 @ May 10 2019, 04:22 PM) My budget hopefully around 2k without wiring coz wiring will be done by wireman during reno, conceal under plaster ceiling. QUOTE(adamw @ May 10 2019, 06:25 PM) The only cons that I can think of for IP Camera is the pricing. So if you can afford the little bit extra, IP is the way to go. With POE so much neater no need separate cabling for power. I worry analog will be phasing out in few years, and need multiple cables for 1 cam. QUOTE(naqib0307 @ May 10 2019, 08:28 PM) The cost for pulling cables and add new power point for my cctv setup is about RM3k. Not sure about analog cctv wiring. How many cameras? |

QUOTE(adamw @ May 12 2019, 10:06 AM) Analog will still be around, now they already have 4K but if pixel to pixel for comparison IP still is a little better but will have a bit of latency depending on how you connect them to your NVR. QUOTE(naqib0307 @ May 12 2019, 10:55 AM) Wiring u can ask ur reno contractor, how much per point pull cable. I got around RM80-90 per point, cable i provide. My contractor told me if without cable he charge rm200+ per point. 1 box cable (305m) range from RM3xx-5xx. alang alang already pull the cable, add some more point for each room / tv point. then later all can put in one rack. Modem, nvr, switch, router, NAS. Any specific IP camera to recommend? These are not wireless type right? Some people said wireless IP camera tend to be hacked, true?Depends on how many cam u want to install. If you plan to install many camera, u can save alot if install it yourself, just make sure u know what you are doing Survey where you can get the best deal for camera and nvr. For me, I saved about RM1k for camera after comparing a few places. Previously, I went to one of cctv installer in putra heights, price for camera with installation quoted about RM2.4k for 4 x 2MP cameras system. With almost the same price, i bought somewhere else and install it myself, got myself 8 x 4MP cameras. |

Any recommendation for wireless cctv that does not require nvr? Like uploading to cloud directly. I saw Xiaomi got, but not sure really good or not.
