What's ur budget bro, and how many cameras u are looking at? indoor / outdoor?

The only cons that I can think of for IP Camera is the pricing. So if you can afford the little bit extra, IP is the way to go. With POE so much neater no need separate cabling for power.

The cost for pulling cables and add new power point for my cctv setup is about RM3k. Not sure about analog cctv wiring.

Analog will still be around, now they already have 4K but if pixel to pixel for comparison IP still is a little better but will have a bit of latency depending on how you connect them to your NVR.

Wiring u can ask ur reno contractor, how much per point pull cable. I got around RM80-90 per point, cable i provide. My contractor told me if without cable he charge rm200+ per point. 1 box cable (305m) range from RM3xx-5xx. alang alang already pull the cable, add some more point for each room / tv point. then later all can put in one rack. Modem, nvr, switch, router, NAS.

Depends on how many cam u want to install. If you plan to install many camera, u can save alot if install it yourself, just make sure u know what you are doing 

Survey where you can get the best deal for camera and nvr.  For me, I saved about RM1k for camera after comparing a few places.

Previously, I went to one of cctv installer in putra heights, price for camera with installation quoted about RM2.4k for  4 x 2MP cameras system.

With almost the same price, i bought somewhere else and install it myself, got myself 8 x 4MP cameras.

Indoor or outdoor? Need pan & tilt?
