We prefer separate PoE Switch, easier for maintenance.
but if u hv 4 cameras only, then go for nvr with poe switch, cheaper.
Yes, NVR will able to detect the IPCam as long as both are in the same network.

Anyone here use PTZ cameras? Any recommendations on brands and model? Prefer Hik or Dahua. Hanhwa also. Can these brands be used with other branded NVR for controls?

Purpose to monitor house porch.

Add 1 more only, i dont know abt cable branding, but it is dark grey..i go google up, seem there is poe extender, only concern will.be limited power and impact bandwidth when running on same cable

If only add one is very simple & cheap. Just used a cable splitter. Out of the 4 pairs your current camera only uses 2 so the other pair can be split out provided your POE switch or NVR has spare POE port..cable splitter

Are you selling them? Can give me a few options, want to do some research. Prefer known common brands to make sure ecosystem is more compatible. Hik, dahua etc.

I can recommend some models to you. You already have NVR? Better uses same brand PTZ. A conventional PTZ is only good if you are always there to control it. Or you set it to pan between 2 points or few presets. But still when it's moving you might missed certain crucial recordings. So why you choosed to have a PTZ?

anything that could recommend to me for my upcoming landed corner house.. i would like to have a CCTV with Alarm system that can trigger alarm whenever there is a detection of people movement at car porch, garden, or back lane during certain time period.. main objective is to scare off some intruders that plan to break in.. i dont want normal CCTV for recording purpose or someone break my glass or shake off magnet sensor on windows to trigger alarm.. but one step ahead like motion detect..

U may look for Ai Active Deterrence CCTV, the camera got built-in siren. When it detect human, siren of the camera will sound and it snapshot send u notification via app.

the siren is standalone or it is centralised type?? loud enough? currently stay at condo and ip cam CCTV alarm is normal since sound unit is built in and not loud enough..

cause if i move to landed and i need a centralised alarm system which very loud and scare off any intruder if possible.. so far internet i did found 1 brand with youtuber as ambassador, onvia.. will spend time to visit their showroom.. at the same time also looking for another alternative brand for comparison..

got 3 type:
1. External Siren Link to decoder
2. External Siren Link to Camera
2. Siren in camera

If u built-in siren, the sound is not loud, is jz to alert the intruder camera detect him

the reason why we dont want camera direct trigger the external siren that sound very loud, because camera detection is not 100% accurate.
Usually what we do is use the camera with siren, and also link a external siren to decoder.
When we need to turn on the loud siren, we can use the app to On it.

So you can forget about using below rm1,000 active deterrence camera for alarm purposed. You will get a lot of false positives.

Disable DDNS in decoder or router
Disable port forwarding
Use P2P/Platform Access
Change the decoder pw

How old is ur dvr? which model?

Are you locked out from the DVR now? Used SADP on PC sent serial no to HIK for password reset.
And you have yet to tell us how you access the DVR remotely? P2P or Port forward?
