So I was at regent street apple store today, bought another 7 plus. Ended up getting week 37 model which was quite similar but softer in hissing noise (noticeable when record video). Returned it on the spot. Got my existing week 39 swapped out as well. They only had a week 38 unit to spare. Noise seems so much more faint, almost gone but the speakers are not as loud on this compared to the Week 39 unit. Will go back after 2 weeks to see if can get a Week 41 unit. Read in other forums they have no issues.

Exchanged for about 5 new units, in the end stuck with a Week 41 Black 128GB. Kinda downgrade from 256GB, but I guess its ok since I dont use all that space anyway. The hiss is still there, though not too bad when upload to YouTube or listen over headphones. Even the Apple store employee at Regent Street in London were quite shocked. They said keep it for a month, come back and buy a new set later and they will refund the existing set. They're also going to work out some compensation for my travels back and forth.
I am thinking that if I play it via headphones, I can't quite hear the hiss and when transfer to PC/upload to YouTube its not there, maybe a software bug when playback in phone? I don't know - what do you all think? Anyway, I think I will just stick with this one. BTW, all iPhones I have had - Week 37-41 (current is 41) are all equivalent in performance/quality. Very glad with the phone overall.
