I don't think the color of the phone affects the trade in value, but if the color is in demand and more popular it would be easier to sell. I know some retailers charge additional for popular colors but I would never pay more for a specific color. And if you trade in your phone the value is the same, irrespective of color.

Digital zoom is always bad, especially in indoor lighting condition it's worst. I'd almost DSLR still for good capture of those moments. Max to use is only 2x optical zoom unless you don't care about quality.

make sure your laptop windows is up to dated . or try diffrent sync cable , try plug in diff usb .. maybe it help .

At 10x the picture becomes to grainy for my liking

So are we saying that it's not too useful for the 2x/10x zoom if it's indoor (not good lighting exposure etc)?

I'm saying I'm considering to upgrade to the 7+ if the camera zoom is useful for my as earlier mentioned purposes.
