Personally I prefer to collect in person than delivery, for the excitement as well as confirmation (at least I know I will get it for sure as long as I’m there), dislike the odd hour waiting for delivery (and disappointment from changes of date) and to avoid mishandling from courier people..had a few deliveries with damaged boxes and would assume the impact was bad to have caused such dents…

I don't think the delivery is done by maxis people, they uses courier services for delivery, can't remember which courier they use, need someone else to confirm this.. but yes they require to verify NRIC before handing you the phone..

Apparently they uses Brightstar, which is quite good..

Went to Maxis Centre to get the phone on contract, they said the stocks remaining is only for NEW LINE/NUMBER. I’m disgusted with how Maxis treat their existing customers. So everytime new phone come out must get a new line?

They ask me to order online and can choose to collect in store instead. Does anyone have encountered similar thing?

official maxis walk in centers do not (and cannot) have such restrictions for existing line recontact, only the dealers and partners put such restrictions to gain more sales from new port ins..

Yea ill only get things done at official walk in centers, had a few bad experience with partners/dealers where my info were no where to be found in maxis system, turns out the dealers were using old systems and takes time to transfer to their main system

not the worst, there was once I signed up home fiber from a dealer coz they give special rebates, ended up waited for a month without update, after all the empty follow ups and waits, to find out that the registration actually failed and was not informed etc etc... straight went to official walk in and get it settled..

Wait…wait…we can get early by placing order at the store? Which maxis center? I also wanna go and place order. Give up already via online maxis or by walk in…

I,ve already fill interest form from maxis website (for quite sometime), but no update or progress. That is why last time when for phone hunting. Still no luck 😢

With chip shortages, most will only get their phone next year and by the time comes people are already hyping/waiting for the 14 series.

Side note: the Maxis center I went is indeed a center by Maxis, not dealer/partner. I guess the staff is either new or just crapping on me.

Called 123 and they said center should be able to serve existing customers to buy the phone, not just new subscribers. Also said, if I got the same excuse from the center’s sales agent, call 123 and they’ll speak with the sales agent.

Never have I ever had to deal so much just to get a damn phone from a telco.

Checking online on website isn’t always accurate as most people here say.

Does Maxis allow you to buy the normal contract iPhone when your current 2 year Maxis contract hasn't ended? My 128 contract ends in March 2022, but looking to get a 13 Pro this month

Just realised that Maxis website does not have 512GB nor 1TB variant for 13 Pro Max anymore

Yea. I did but previously they had that two variants to select even though they were out of stock. But now, the option to select those variants is not available. Perhaps it’s just an UI change.

Anyone have news on normal contract for MOP 98 for 13 Pro? Been waiting since launch...
