If you calculate the monthly payment, you will also be paying 3k++ for the phone under Zerolution, just the upfront payment makes no sense.

I think Maxis should review on their Zerolution package. Otherwise, better not to announce Zerolution for iPhone xD

I think there is term and condition on this. If you are a postpaid user for 12 months you can get it waived. Otherwise you will need to provide your other telco statement for 3 months. I ever read this from somewhere, wondering if it applicable to Maxis.

Dropped by Maxis center just now after dinner wanted to find out more, here's what I understand from the staff's explanation...

Advance payment has to be paid via Credit card (0% EPP available), so subscriber pay the bank via 12/24 months installment.
The Advance Payment amount will then be deducted from your monthly bill. (the same 24 months contract applies for Zerolution plan)

The way i look at it, customer now owe the bank and not maxis. Maxis 'protected' from customer 'running away' with their iphones since they already got their money from the bank.

It makes no difference than other telcos which provide EPP for user then.. Hmm..

Then it really shouldn't be called Zerolution because the advance payment is higher than buying the device upfront on a normal contract

That's true, that's why i see this as protecting Maxis against their past bad experience. Good thing i see is Advance payment has EPP option, so no need pay 2.5k/3.5k one shot.

For Zerolution (Android), we pay maxis every month.
For Zerolution (iPhone), we pay Bank every month (Either 12 or 24 months thru EPP). No need pay for Maxis since it will be deducted/rebated from Advance payment.

But have to put all this in a spreadsheet to get the bigger picture...

Yea, having said that, our credit card limit would become lesser as EPP will capture the actual amount, and it will be decreasing monthly if we made payment.

Yes, over as long as you're with them over a year.

For example i take the zerolution under macis 128 plan for IPX.

Monthly payment stated is 153/month. So i will need to pay 153/month to the bank and 128 to maxis?

It might be 153 + 128 + GST to the bank, as it will lock the total amount to your CC and convert it to EPP? Need to walk in to Maxis to understand further.

In this case you would have already paid 4500 to maxis in advanced payment, which means if you used your credit card for 0% EPP, then you would be paying the bank. Maxis will offset your bill amount from the advanced payment you've paid.

Hmmm i dont mind paying 153+128+gst.

What i dont want to pay is the advance of 4500. I dont see this as zerolution anymore.

Yeah, that's exactly right. Maxis should remove this from Zerolution as it is pointless.

True that. Defeat the purpose of having zerolution. Nothing zero about it anymore!
