Not sure. Never used Nikon 1 J5 or Sony a6000 before. smile.gif
You can also look at Olympus / Fuji / Panasonic.

Comparing the two you suggested go for the a6000. Bigger sensor, better low light and AF. As a daily gear probably more than enough. Or better yet tell us your budget.

The way u talk like no exp in camera stuff. Would suggest u buy here, study a bit about how to use, then decide what to buy in jap. Price wise when new usually not that much different.

Always ends up smartphone more than enough if the user does not pixel peep much and post on FB.

If u still insist though, go for a6000. Lens wise depend on ur preference but the 18-105 (if not wrong) f4 G lens should be versatile enough for u though may be a little big.

Agree in fact buying camera in Malaysia is much more cheaper compared to japan. Try doing some comparison again between our online seller against big chains in japan like yodobashi or BIC camera.

it will cost you more to buy in Tokyo. you can actually search for the price to compare

and the cameras might have an all Japanese menu that you cant change

as for Sony A6000 or Nikon 1 - get the A6000

A New camera rrp in Japan is higher then Malaysia. But after tourist tax deduction, u still lose out proper warranty. And Japan unit only have Japanese language(they are not international unit).

The only cheap stuff are 2nd hand stuff. Japanese people don't mind letting go old stuff for cheap. Hence u can get a lot of nice pristine 2nd hand lens at dirt cheap price. That's all.
