William:  any other safe investments as hard to buy Asx? I  DONT prefer VP cos we lose 5% the mov we buy... so it works out we lose approx 1% for every year if we targer 5yrs... so we are getting basically 5.3%...which isnt much from fixed deposits and also the possibility of lowered unit cost... so any other suggestions?

Did u xplore EPF as it's a Long term investment?

Have fund in EPF... so wondering other avenues.. after FP ASx. Just was wondering if I had missed out on any other alternatives.
*
I presume u have low tolerance lvl on risk
Perhaps u may consider those equities (loan stock segment) listed in Bursa tat pays competitive fixed return from 6% n above plus the capital is 'guarantee'

Maybank recently launched this LOL campaign( Labur Online) and we get to choose to invest ASNB online via different banks such as Maybank, CIMB etc.

But the thing is we i access Maybank2u, I can't even invest a single sen into AS1M at all, the statement ' all ASB, AS1M etc are fully subsrcibed' are there.

So, Whats the point of this LOL campaign?

In fact, their main target is bumi

I wud suggest u split MYR for emergency use into other investment class as it's not worthwhile for u to withdraw since u have spent 'great' effort to top up

cimb kaya lo collecting so muchmoney no need pay interest for so many days.

Tat is close to 1 mth opportunity cost
Alternatively, u can request them to compensate by giving xtra % for short term FD placement

Not Bad.

I thought just got the news stated many malaysian do not have much money reserved and cannot survive if not income for more than 3 months.

Savings is 1st stage whereas Stay on course is 2nd stage
If m not wrong, they treat ASB/ASB2 as CASA instead of Long term investment
