Poll how many fans running in your CPU now.
Pls Reply detail about which & why about the fans.

Ok, how to count
PSU - If like I-Cute twin Fans so is count 2
HSF - If like stock HSF that mean is 1, something like Mini Typhoon Value Pack those bling bling small fans not count..
Casing Fan - any fan will count
Ram fan - Dual fan will counted as 1 fans only, exp. AllanGap Ram Cooler is 2 fans running. But count in 1 fan
VGA Fan - any fan will count
Northbridge & northbridge - any fan will count

If posible please count total of CFM
In - ** CFM
Out - ** CFM

*Pls tell us why u system less fans and why lots fans
*Photo are always welcome

120MM: 8 Fans
80MM: 1 Fan
70MM: 1 Fan
60MM: 2 Fans
Total: 12 Fans in my casing.

The spreadout:

120MM Fans:
1) Two units of Dual pass 120MM X 2 Radiator = 4 X 120MM Fans [2 X 120MM Fans per radiator] - All Fans running at 1800RPM [Vantec Spectrum 120MM UVLed Fans]
2) Three X 120MM Casing Fan - All Fans running at 1800RPm [Vantec Spectrum 120MM UVLed Fans]
3) One X 120MM PSU Fan - Original Enermax Fan found running at 1000RPm

80MM:
One 80MM Galaxy 8800GTS Fan - Fan running at 2000 RPm

70MM:
One 70MM fan attached on my Noctua NC-U6 Chipset Heatsink - Fan running at 2500 RPm

60MM:
Dual 60MM Fans on the ram cooler that is made by allngap. - Not quite sure about the speed, only allngap knows... laugh.gif
[I don't count it as one fan, as it's sucking a lot of voltage, not a normal 60MM fan]

And that's it. laugh.gif

**Oh my, i thought i'm the winner with 12 fans in my casing, but seems like allngap beats me... laugh.gif

^ for the Speeds they give nice, but not nice enough because they have a low frequency resonance that requires silicone dampeners to make sure the hum isn't transfered to my case which is rattle prone.

Planning on the few replacement candidates below. The flow figures for the 14 dbA's are pretty good

^ for the Speeds they give nice, but not nice enough because they have a low frequency resonance that requires silicone dampeners to make sure the hum isn't transfered to my case which is rattle prone.

Planning on the few replacement candidates below. The flow figures for the 14 dbA's are pretty good

4412 F/2GL
4412 F/2GLLL
4414 F/2M
*
appreciate the info..at least its not a high pitched wail whihc some fans make.

Anyway heres the number of fans in my casing, list not finalised yet as im still experimenting:

4 x 120mm Thermaltake blue led fan
1 x 120mm Lian Li/Adda fan
1 x 120mm Vizo UV Led fan
1 x 140mm Evercool Red Scorpion
1 x zalman fatality fan for gc, forgot if its 80 or 90mm.
1 x 80mm psu fan

My old server has:

1x 80mm HD intake fan
1x 80mm front intake fan
2x 80mm side intake fans (blows onto GPU)
2x 80mm rear exhaust fans
1x 92mm CPU fan
1x 92mm blowhole exhaust fan

8 fans in all, not including chipset (1), GPU (1).

All 80mm fans are Nidec Beta SLs - good airflow with less noise
CPU 92mm fan is lower speed Delta
Blowholes 92mm fan is Nidec Beta V - very powerful and loud!

Controlled by Aerogate 2 (formerly controlled by DigiDoc5).

haha... got this kind of topic too....

I forgot to count my PSU + G/c... voted 5, but actually got 8 fans....

My Lian-li PC-G7 casing can support 3 120mm Fan, + 1 80mm fan.

My g/c 1 fan, proc 1 fan, PSU 1 fan.

I also install Lian-li 4-in-3 HDD cage, so that is 1 more 120mm fan.

----
summaries:

intake:
2 x 120mm Lian-li Fan (1 casing + 1 for hdd cage)

out:
2 x 120mm Lian-li Fan (1 behind, + 1 side)
1 x 80mm CM Fan ( up)

other:
1 x 72mm Processor Fan.
1 x tiny Graphic card Fan (stock one)
1 x 80mm PSU fan, blows out.

-----
8 fans.

I basically have a delta high speed fan running as my exhaust, and a CM led fan as my intake... At the moment i am trying to silent my delta.. but i dont think its gonne work.. its too powerful cool2.gif

Also i have done a little mod to my intel stock cooler.. I have put a little fan on top of the stock fan with a windflow tunnel to concentrate cool air intake to the chip brows.gif

My new server rig (temporarily using it as my main rig):

10x fans (including PSU):

1x CPU fan (Zalman CNPS9700)
1x 120mm intake fan - blows air into casing "through" 3x HDs (so acts as a HD cooler too)
1x 120mm exhaust fan directly behind CPU HSF
- all 3 fans are in a direct line.
2x 40mm fans in a HD cooler
3x 80mm side intake fan - blowing air onto HDs
1x PCI card slot exhaust fan - sucks air off the graphics card (fanless), and out the back
1x PSU fan

It's not noisy as the two 120mm fans are controlled manually (usually set to lowest), and the CPU HSF is automatically controlled.
The other fans are quite quiet except for the PCI slot exhaust fan which is a little bit noisier that the silent fans. But it's needed as it is at the top of the casing (mobo installed BTX style in Aerocool Baydream case), and I have a fanless 8600GT.

All Fans are Cooler Master except the PSU one.

2x front intake 80mm fan
2x side intake 80mm fan (blowing directly to the graphics card)
1x top exhaust 80mm fan
1x PSU exhaust 80mm fan
1x back exhaust 80mm fan
1x CPU Cooler Master Jet HSF

Reason for the fans: Overclocked CPU and graphics card

i think my computer don't have fan. except for the stock fan on my p4 processor and the fan on my 7600gs . so how many fan should i add so i can close my sidecase.

currently, i took of the sidecover, and place a table fan to blow it. if it is off, my pc will very noisy, if close the cover, more noise.

i think now only can put 1 fan which is for the back, to suck heat out and for the front, there's no air hole.

any idea on helping me?

added (following)

1 x Sanyo Denko 120 x 120 x 38 at the frontal, replacing crappy CoolerMaster 120mm case fan

1 x Delta 70 x 70 x 25 to HR-05 SLI, switched from fanless configuration

1 x Delta 80 x 80 x 25 direct blow to PWM IC area, instead of relying air flow coming from frontal panel fan...

... and i got this... thumbup.gif

oklay, not too noise, but can hear those fans tongue.gif

Let's see, I've got 7x120mm fans that push about 600CFM, and another 92mm fan for my rams that pushes about 60CFM, so grand total of 8 fans and 660CFM. Not including the 140mm fan in the PSU and the tiny centrifugal fan on my VGA card smile.gif The noise pollution in total is lower than a single Vizo 92mm Windstorm though.....

4 JUSTCOOLER 9CM available at PCZONE COMPUTER, strongest I have tried so far. Two on the side of my 8800, 320. One infront of WD80SATA. One at the side of southbridge of my P5B-PLUS Vista. Plus a desktop fan blowing full time.
Quite loud but cheap.

6 fans total including PSU.

Front Fan: 120mm x 1 (inlet)
Side Fan: 120mm x 2 (inlet)
Rear Fan: 120mm x 1 (outlet)
Top Fan: 80mm x 1 (outlet)

with more strong inlet than outlet, to create a positive air pressure inside the casing which is "rumour" to increase cooling capacity, keep dust out, and transfer a higher volume of air. at least, that's what i think... tongue.gif

my setup

1x120mm fan front intake
1x120mm rear exhaust (coolermaster 90cfm 25dba fan)
1x120mm fan on scythe ninja
1x120mm side intake blowing at dual 8800 using accelero s1
2x120mm top blow holes
1x120mm psu fan
1x80mm fan on northbridge

so i got 8 fans. but almost silent..biggest noise culprit now is the 80mm fan but cant silence it anymore..

3 x 120mm front intake on cage
1 x 120mm rear exhaust fan
1 x 120mm psu fan
1 x 120mm psu fan (Secondary PSU)
1 x 120mm CPU
1 x Mobo Curtain roll fan (don't recall the name, its used to cool the mobo)
1 x 80mm top exhaust.

I've stopped using delta and nidec beta v cause the noise is killing me. Now going mobile on laptop. the junk is left there like a white elephant.

top blowhole fan is modded with an on/off switch, and front intake is modded a 3 way switch.

maybe i'll get another fan for my sd964 since it support two fans config. but currently im happy with the air flows.

as for the switches, its use to regulate the voltages. plus, i get the option to switch them off for silence use, or when i sleep.

-edit- added another 92mm fan for my cpu to make push-pull config.

woah.. lazy. normally i clean like after each sem. around 3 to 4 months. after adding a top blowhole fan my rig is sucking in more dust than before. my cpu fan is already got abit dust already after a few weeks. before this it takes around half a year for dust to accumulate on the fan fin.

I personally think... 5 fans will do awesome already. 1 PSU fan, 1 CPU Fan,1 GPU Fan , intake fan and exchaust fan. Optimum airflow.. too much will not allow proper ventilation ( cold air to hot )

1 fan ~ PSU
1 fan ~cpu [if with copper heatsink = very cool liau and enough]
1 fan suck out the heat in the casing [ locate at back of case]
1 fan suck in fresh air [ locate at front of ur case] or if no you can just plug the fan to help the circulate the air in the case,

My HTPC (SFF - Silverstone SG01 casing)

5 fans

120mm PSU fan sucking air right off the Nitrogon NT-06 Lite heatsink (passive)
80mm CM silent fan for 2x HDs
80mm CM silent fan for blowhole on top
80mm CM silent fan for rear blowhole (over TV tuner card)
Slot blower fan sucking air off onboard GPU (hot!) and blowing it out back

Original Silverstone fans did not have RPM sensing wire, so I replaced them with the CM silent fans (RPM sensing) to keep noise levels down.

my pc case gets pretty warm during the hot season since its on 24/7. So i added 2 fans side by side to the rear.

1 fan as intake 1 as exhaust.
The stock grille on the casing was cut to enable 100% free flow of air in and out of the casing.

The case is much cooler now.

But i need fans for my 2 hard disks as its kinda hot... Gonna add it later.

I have 3 fans running.

1x PSU (xigmatek - very silent)
1x GPU (sapphire 5770 - swapped with a 19dba 90mm fan)
1x CPU (CM212+ - the loudest)

To compensate for the lack of fans, my side panel is removed 24/7.
Use less voltage, more silent, and anytime I can enjoy look into my rig.
I have this fetish where I will caress the heatsinks once in a while to
check temperature.

every PSU will equipped with a fan for sure. except fanless psu, obviously.
Depend on the PSU efficiency, better PSU(80Plus and better) will dissipate less heat than low efficiency psu.

its how amazing when i see the poll result to know there are almost 1/4 people to have 7-10 fans... more fans not necessarily give you the best cooling results, there are always air flows knowledge included happy.gif

Artic Cooling F12 Fan is cheaper than Noctua NF-P1 Fan

Artic Cooling F12 around RM 30++
Noctua NF-P1 around RM 50 ++

Chassis:
2x Front intake Silverstone AP121
1x Side intake Thermaltake 230mm
1x Back exhaust Thermaltake 140mm
1x Top exhaust Thermaltake 200mm
1x Heatsink's fan Cooler Master Blademaster 120mm
1x PSU's fan (Gigabyte Odin Pro 550W, 120mm PWM)
2x GPU's fan (Gigabyte GTX560 Ti, 80mm PWM)

9 Fans total.
Front intake were changed from original Thermaltake 200mm for better airflow.
Best to use 180mm and above fan, or if possible 120mm at the very least to give more airflow and at the same time much silent.

My 24/7 download server has recently changed its PSU fan from 2x 80mm to 1x 120mm (DIY PSU case mod) to reduce the noise, the 2 units of 80mm's hydraulic bearing were making cranking noise.
