wah, didn't expect malaysia to receive the worst compensation amongst all other countries for all the trouble caused..
$25 voucher, $100 credit, free high end earphone, etc.. nada.. even Thai and Viet get better goodwill offers.. if any phone can be as good as note 7 or similar to samsung future offerings, bye bye SME.. end of SME? |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Oct 14 2016, 09:13 AM) SME announced refund/ exchange process... agreed, most probably will recommend china brand since their offerings are 1/2 price and comparable in specs..i think they are kinda fast this time around... my impression. it's OK in the sense that i think it's like the minimal thingy they do. if they want, i believe they could do more, but well, even as it is... ok la... i guess they know there's a good chance many of these pre-orders are probably scalpers anyway and not fans... so maybe that's why the compensation isn't something that would make me really happy. but ya... from what i can see posted on the SME site... it's ok la... i have no issues to pick with it. just dem... i threw away my dem receipts just 2 weeks back la... i still have the SP boxes... i wonder if they will accept... i bring the SP boxes back to them. will i recommend friends to Samsung? after this fiasco, the things we all had to go thru... and just the bare minimum compensation, i'd probably advice ppl to consider something else. there are other good and cheaper brands out there... unless mati2 mau guna s-pen la... |

just read about the Samsung Concierge for Sg users..
If offer a Malaysian equivalent of this to me as compensation I would be glad. Win-win, guarantees their future sales without forking out any money at all on their part. http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-s...-s7-edge-owners QUOTE(hardwarezone) 1. The perks include a S$350 waiver on yearly phone upgrades to the next eligible Samsung device, *** (Most important) RM1,050 waiver on any upcoming flagship phone from Samsung 2. a 50% subsidy for all out-of-warranty repairs, one-to-one phone exchange for defective phones, 3. and personalized assistance from Samsung Concierge Consultants who can do data transfers between phones at your request, 4. or conduct same-day repairs at your doorstep. QUOTE(brandon8921 @ Oct 17 2016, 11:37 AM) Swap to S7edge is not a good deal. SME is trying to mess with us. A month back SME have this promotion - RM300 off with purchase of S7 or S7edge. Now with Note7 exchange to S7edge also refund RM300. Here is the calculation: 1. S7edge RRP : RM3099 - RM300 = RM2799 2. S7edge 1st preorder : RM3099 - 20% = RM2479 3. S7edge 2nd preorder : RM3099 - 10% = RM2789 4. S7edge online : RM2649 (lazada), RM2399 (11 Street), RM2414 (Gemfive "TREATS12" voucher RM2639 - RM225) 5. Note 7 swap S7edge : RM2879(preorder price) - RM300 = RM2579 Also, given that S7 edge is around the market for quite some time, new S8 will launch on March 2017, it is not a good time to get S7edge now at RRP, as most of the S7edge sold in Malaysia are sold in preorder price, promotion discount, online voucher rebate, and most importantly NOT at its own RRP. SME trying to fool Note7 users here QUOTE(jacky91 @ Oct 17 2016, 11:44 AM) agreed, though i would have to add on info that the screen warranty will be transferred over. So that might be a tipping point for some but not for me. s-pen is the important thing for me.. |

QUOTE(NBC News) The suit — whose class-action status must still be approved by a judge before it can proceed — doesn't seek any damages over Note 7s that actually caught fire. http://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/firs...xy-note-n668541Instead, it seeks unspecified damages over what it alleges was Samsung's mistreatment of its customers because they had to keep paying on their contracts during the weeks after Samsung recalled the phones but before replacements were made widely available. US is suing Samsung even with a better recall and refund option than us. So many of us are *grateful* to SME and defend them gao gao pulak.. haha This post has been edited by jrrsim: Oct 19 2016, 03:28 PM |

QUOTE(qawyhamz @ Oct 24 2016, 03:12 PM) Users in the upgrade program will need to pay only half the price of a Galaxy S7 device, rather than the full amount, before exchanging to the S8 or the Note 8, Samsung said. In offering the Note 8, Samsung indirectly reinforced previous statements that the Note series will not be discontinued. reading this, have to pay s7 exchange price + 1/2 s7 price.. so pay 1.5x price of s7 to exchange to note8? macam not worth it also..====%= from the same article On another note; there will be a note 8 ... horrayyy |

Theoretically, IF SME offers this:
Swap to s7e for rm300 rebate (phone price rm2579.1) Next year note 8 is out, pay additional RM1500 to swap to note 8 (return s7e) Total paid: RM4079.1 Would anyone want this deal? |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Oct 24 2016, 07:59 PM) considering those who rage here were told to get lost from the forum and we should only post positive news.. agreed.good chance SME will read it as "Malaysian Note7 owners are happy with recall". once again, thank you to those who guys who first thought the defect don't affect them.. and then condemn those ego posted negative news... and finally asking these ppl who share updates to get lost! if you're one of those.. yes, you should be ashamed. add on those saints that want everyone to be happy about whatever breadcrumbs SME is offering, so SME thinks their offer is ok d now.. may u guys be forever grateful with breadcrumbs all your life.. |
