i used s1 & note 1, then iphone until now.
using a spare note 5, seriously thats why it doesnt attract me for any model before s7 edge.
even the note 5 im using now, i feel its not a very good user experience compare to iphone (in terms of the interaction and touch of the screen), i also accidently press the back or touched the screen, its indeed very bad user interaction experience, for more than 6 years, still no improve, then i try s7, so much better, thus assuming the note 7 should go the same.

im waiting to see OPPO R9s... in another 2 more days to launch

i think another replacement can go for is...
s7 not edge.
cheaper price but with very high spec... while waiting for ur note 8

agreed if still have phone to use.

but bear in mind if want to wait for s8 u will at least have to wait till March, which mean almost 5 months, and if someone want to wait for the stable version, maybe have to wait till May or June, so u can think through whether u want to wait. as the next one always better than the previous one... wait for s9, s10, s11
