the whole n7 fiasco, for me i choose to view it as half-full instead of half-empty.

the positives i gain out of the whole things outweighs the -ves

- the pre-order freebies and the 2 free sets of accessories, i would estimate easily rm500

- the chance to use 1 of the best phones ever (if not the best) for potentially up to 4 months basically for free. no depreciation smile.gif

- the chance to use this gorgeous phone fully naked, to use it like it was built. without worrying about scratches, hairlines etc. smile.gif

- root without abandonment!

- for me, a change in mindset regarding battery dangers. previously was very sloppy...frequent charging overnight, sometimes sleep with phone just beside etc. after this will probably be much more careful no matter which phone i upgrade to.

so if u get stressed out by all the negativitiy being spread around by trolls, hate mongers or "concerned non-users" whether in the forums, fb or even in real life...just try to appreciate the positives. biggrin.gif

glad he and his family is ok

2 points noted from the accident

- was charging and using s3/s5 charger. shouldn't this be lower amp?

- more of heating up and catching fire, as from his description, lots of smoke came out. the pattern seems the same as other reported cases, fast heat build up and then catching fire. pattern of damage also same, mostly localised and once energy spent then quickly died off. so it helps to keep the battery less charged (= less stored energy)

make of that what you will.
