trust me, the best phone to replace our note 7 is the s7 edge.

while my note 7 lays elegantly in the drawer, i have spent money on Huawei P9, LG V20, Xiaomi Mi5, iPhone 7 Plus, and the most recent is Sony Xperia XZ. Not counting my ex flagship smartphones in 2016 - HTC 10, LG G5 & OnePlus 3. While each of these smartphones have their strengths, all of them are seriously not a great replacement for our note 7..

The main issue here is, some of us were using s7 edge prior to this note 7, so do we still have 'appetite' to go back to our old phone which actually is the next best smartphone after note 7?
I still have normal s7 edge and s7 edge injustice edition but I still feel the need to spend & basically 'throw' money on some other inferior smartphones.

Can someone please advice me to just wait for the refund and use any of my s7 edge?

These days chances are nearly zero. If you had note 7 since launch, your friends who knew you had one would have made countless jokes about carrying a time bomb. Don't know is just simply ignorant especially he just changed his phone. Don't know will goto change? Any logic?

Due to recent announcement, worst case is they would ask you to present your phone. But being a civilized person, Im not going to bring my Note 7 on board, moving temporary 2 days to a S3 with prepaid. Though if ppl are langsi, just bring another spare phone to show, just in case they want you to present your phone.
