hi.
i've been planning to get an xbox360 from malaysia this month. but due to unforseen (well, a little bit) circumstances i ended up giving the order for a guy to purchase the system from Singapore today. A shop called Vision, thats all i know.
i asked (in writing) for a Asian Premium Xbox360 (modified: i'm sorry fellow forum posters, but i have my reasons) and the price was something close to US$ 500.
on the phone with a guy from the shop, i did ask for details, but it was not very helpful. I managed to understand that he was giving everything (three controllers? some games??) but it was not very clear, what exactly.
this forum has been pretty helpful to me in deciding in getting what from where, so im asking the members if the price quoted is appropriate? and are there modified consoles available in singapore for that price? If i get the premium console and it turns out to be not modified, i would still be happy.
so any thoughts? anything i should know? the package would be arriving via a sea route within 15 days.

Well, i thought of that as well.
But US$ 450 to 500 was the quotes i got from Malaysia as well. That is through some friends studying there. Besides i suppose if the console is modded, it would be a bit expensive.
Anyway, if it is a paperweight when i get it then i would not have to pay eh? I have not given the money as of yet.

QUOTE(liaw82 @ Feb 4 2007, 06:20 AM) If you have really gone through the guilding thread, u won't end up buying with such an expensive price. guilding? im not sure what that means. anyway, its a hundred US$ up from the retail price, right? i know you guys mean well, but the time / hassle of getting something IMPORTED is actually much more than a hundred dollars. so can you get on to Live from any country?

QUOTE(izaman @ Feb 5 2007, 08:52 AM) WARNING: No offense guys... in my opinion, u r foreigners right? and your friends too? usually, if you're unlucky, some shops will "chopped off" your head because they know foreigners have extra cash if compared to malaysians. so, they will quote you a higher price because they just want some easy money. my suggestion....bring along a malaysian to minimize the risk of being cheated. YOU OFFEND ME IZAMAN! kiddin yes, but i dont think you can call me a foreigner because im not actually IN malaysia. im from the maldives. any maldivians here, you can pm me. and about the extra cash, i really dont think so. they are students! i think it says enough.

Alright! I've got the box. Its actually a premium bundle from Singapore. Included are two controllers, and PGR3 and Ninety Nine Nights and the BAD NEWS: The power brick isnt working.. the light only turns orange, not green. Why is that?? So i cant even check if its working or not. and NTSC / J means the system is Asian? or is it the Japanese one?
