It is from Era but Puchong, not Penang. I do not know what's wrong with their system, but I googled and before me, the same thing happened to someone else too. Buy from official mi store and end up the same thing cannot claim warranty.

They must have very bad inventory system.

Mi store /Era staff aren't the best and most helpful. From xmas until now, all they have done is apologize and asked me to continue to wait. And after checking at eComm site, what the service center claims is not true. It is registered to Msia. So this is even more confusing.

Plaza Merdeka, Kuching
Or is Era making a bit of side business with some of their own AP set, while selling ori?

We have exchanged 16 emails, and until now still no real progress. Summary of their reply: "...I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. With respect to your problem I would like to inform you that your device will be covered under warranty..."

That is from Era, but once you go to service ctr, nope... nothing has change nor updated.

The address you email is it this one? service.my@xiaomi.com

Have you tried calling them? There's a number here.

This is really unacceptable, they even point you to mistore lazada on their homepage.

Yes, that is the email, and it is from mi store lazada, which the website points to, like you said. Bought from there, got phone from Era International.
