Just use good reputable engine oil and that's enough, no need of such 'snake oil' additives which actually can be detrimental to your engine. just think about it, if such additives are that good, wouldn't the big oil companies/brands already use and sell them??

meh... generally i dont believe in these products, some might have an effect, but nah~

as guest mentioned, if it was great, they would have already included it in the oil you buy.

Try and search X1R and Exora Turbo, and you'd never want to add any additives in your car.

Why would Proton want to lie about this? It was the Proton service centers who push this X1R to their customers in the first place.

And the whole deal backfired on Proton when this X1R product damaged the turbochargers on their CFE engines.

i did try this thing around year 2006/07 not sure.. it does work with my wira last time, it did make smoother running engine, and i also use for my auto gbx just before it broke down totally..

gbx already problem a few times, but when i add this X-1R for auto gbx, the gbx suddenly running normal instead of jerking and hard to engage gear and all.. after that change to manual as i know auto gbx is problematic

Why not? Think about it. Cooking oil priced RM15-18 for 5 liters And X1R is about RM50 a bottle. Less than RM 100, which is cheaper than semi syn. Can think what right? laugh.gif laugh.gif

Actually it's not 'fake'. X1R was actually designed originally for NASA as a high friction lubricant. It is used in many performance applications. However, bear in mind that your car was designed to take a specific viscosity (thickness) of oil. So adding this product may reduce that viscosity, resulting in a smoother engine but less protection. Not following your manufacturer recommendation for oil is particularly hazardous for turbo application as the oil has to go through small hoses and pipes so you want to have an oil that's of consistent thickness.

Tldr: If you don't know what it is, don't use it.
