Hopefully, it is proven that 6% online cashback are given for Maxis bill payment, via Maxis Pay and UOB Payonline.

QUOTE(gastacopz @ Oct 27 2016, 11:27 AM)
Dear Mr gastacopz,

Thank you for your email.

Further to your concern, please be informed that we have proceeded to perform the transfer payment from your UOB VOX to UOB YOLO card. The extra credit balance will be reflected in your forthcoming credit statement.

In regards to the cancelation request, we would like to advise you that there is no any additional charge incurred in your credit card for the cancelation request.

We hereby attached the cancelation letter for your attention.

*
So, you managed to obtain the credit card cancellation letter for your VOX Card. That is good. I will also request for the credit card cancellation letter for my VOX Card, when I cancel my card later.

UOB Customer Service Officer gave me a weird information about UOB Yolo Card, but it is unverified information, since I cannot find any information about it on UOB website. rclxub.gif

Other than UOB Yolo Platinum Credit Card that we all know about, UOB also offers UOB Yolo Lite Credit Card.

The difference for UOB Yolo Lite Credit Card
- The minimum annual income is lower, at RM 24,000 per annum.
- 6 % cashback on online transactions and 3 % cashback on dining are same , but the maximum cashback capped per month should be lower than of UOB Yolo Platinum Credit Card.

The setup of Yolo and Yolo Lite is somewhat similar to UOB Lady's Card, whereby different annual income of the cardholder will determine the maximum cashback that can be gained.

A minimum annual income is required :
- RM24,000 for UOB Lady's Classic Card
- RM48,000 for UOB Lady's Platinum Card
- RM100,000 for UOB Lady's Solitaire Card

Has anyone heard about Yolo Lite, or the CS officer has given me wrong information? confused.gif

For sure, we will stick with UOB Yolo Platinum Credit Card.

Yeah got cash back already For September spending on Yolo
*
RM 833.30 x 6% = RM 49.98

But, you only received RM 49.70 of cashback. Why did UOB provide slightly lower cashback? sweat.gif

What would be the lowest spending, in order to get the full RM 50 cashback? RM 834.00 perhaps?

Just to confirm, if Yolo card is not used for 1 month, there is no fee charged to the card, right? smile.gif

QUOTE(kelvinlzy @ Nov 10 2016, 11:08 PM)
Important! Calling all Yolo card holders who didn't meet the minimum annual income requirement, that is RM36k, please call to CS to confirm whether or not your Yolo card is Lite Plat or normal Plat. If Lite Plat, you will not enjoy first year annual fee waiver and it will be charged on the 2nd or 3rd statement, only 2nd year they will waive, then 3rd year onwards every year will be charged. When I called the 1st CS, she told me all this. After that I called again, another CS also said the same thing.

Only UOB PRVI Mile, Preffered Plat MasterCard and Yolo Plat have Lite version. They have the same benefits as their normal counterparts, just that if your income didn't meet the requirement, UOB will still issue you Lite version, but they won't tell you that! Even online banking and UOB website don't have any info about this! I have called to upgrade my Yolo Lite Plat to normal Plat just now. So yeah, you have been warned.
*
QUOTE(kelvinlzy @ Nov 11 2016, 11:17 AM)
Yolo Plat has 2 version, Lite and normal. So every Yolo card will have a Plat wording on the card, just that you won't know whether it is a Lite version or not.

If your income record in UOB system is more than RM36k when you converted or applied Yolo, then it is safe to say yours is normal Plat. Lite Plat will only be issued if system determines that you are not qualified for the card.
Yup, couldn't find any info about it anywhere. Problem is all the CS are aware of the existence of Lite version of CC. That's what pisses me off.
Calling CS is the fastest. If not you can email them to ask. Even internet banking and statement won't tell you that.
*
Thank you for confirming the validity of the UOB Yolo Lite information I heard from UOB CS. smile.gif At first, I thought that I am the only one who received misleading information from a clueless UOB CS. Anyway, everyone in this UOB thread should be wary of Yolo Lite existence.

Definitely for the new Yolo Lite card applicants with annual income of less than RM 36k, the annual fee will be charged on the second month or third month of the first year of using the card. As kelvinlzy confirmed, annual fee for the second year will be waived.

Here is something extra, informed to me by UOB Telemarketer who processed my application for Yolo card. For existing UOB VOX cardholder (with annual income of less than RM 36k) who convert or apply for UOB Yolo Lite card, annual fee will be waived for the first year, and instead will be charged during the second year. For these Yolo Lite cardholders (converted from VOX), the charging of annual fee will be similar for those cardholders of normal Yolo Card. Maybe, this is how UOB continues to reward the existing VOX cardholders with annual income of less than RM 36k.

Again, this is unverified information given by UOB Telemarketer. Let's see, if there are other Yolo cardholders who do receive similar information.

I know that UOB Yolo Card is new in the market.

Anyway, the annual fee is charged to our card one year after card approval date (by UOB), or card activation date (when we send SMS for card activation)?

Possibly, I want to delay the activation of my card, since I do not need to use my card yet.

When I want to use my card, I need to swipe RM 833.34 in total. For that, I will swipe my card for a month, and then stop using my card for the next month. The cycle will repeat itself onwards. It is because I do not have huge amount of online spending every month. And, it is not worthwhile, if we swipe our card below RM 800.00.

Thank you for information. rclxms.gif

doesn't work. I asked this from CS earlier.

if u prepay in advance, leaving balance rm20, when autopay kicks in, it will autochange full bill amount.

you'll have a lot of excess payment that keeps piling up laugh.gif
*
For this autopay issue, how about making payment, before the Unifi bill statement date? That way, the bill amount is much reduced, and the autopay amount is based on this reduced bill amount.

We all should not be too bothered with rudimentary state of UOB PayOnline website. smile.gif As long as we do not need to pay additional processing fee to UOB PayOnline and gain online cashback, we should be very happy and satisfied indeed. rclxm9.gif Its no-frill look helps to keep the cost down.

Would you rather pay 2 % processing fee (similar to Posonline) and get a better-looking website? I would definitely choose UOB PayOnline, over Posonline, if UOB PayOnline has the bill options that I want. smile.gif

So, you generated your one-time password around 11.57 pm to 11.59 pm the previous day, and then typed in your OTP in the online payment confirmation website, and waited till 12 am to press 'Confirm', right?

Wow, that is impressive. Congratulations on winning the cashbacks. rclxms.gif

UOB declined my request twice even after I called in for waiver.

A week later, I called in to cancel my card. CS informed me that once you request to cancel your card, they will waive the existing AF regardless whether were there any transaction after AF was charged.

2 business days later, I received a call from the retention department, they decided to waive my AF for 3 years.

jialat!

why the bank must 'train' their customers to take up the 'threatening' method in order to waive annual fee lah.
*
So, for UOB Bank, can we infer that the Bank will usually waive the annual fee for any UOB cardmembers who cancel their credit cards? And, for those UOB cardmembers who comply and just pay the annual fee without any fuss, UOB will happily accept the payment of the annual fee, as a part of their revenue. hmm.gif

I did not get 6% cashback, for TMNet Streamyx Bill payment via UOB Payonline. mad.gif

The description is also TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD KL(HD) MY.

Sigh, is there any chance for getting this cashback, by appealing though phone call to UOB Customer Service? sad.gif

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Feb 24 2017, 03:09 PM)
some possible exclusion reasons:

1) excluded due to MCC? if yes, what was recorded?
2) excluded due to description? if yes, what are the list?

keep in mind of these when asking them smile.gif avoid mentioning uobpayonline, if possible.
*
For sure, we will not mention about UOB Payonline, during our phone call with UOB Customer Service.

If that is the case, what kind of payment method or website should we explain to the UOB Customer Service, when UOB Customer Service asks us on the method of paying TMNet Streamyx or UniFI Bill? sweat.gif

Do UOB still keep the record of the MCC for the transactions performed over a month ago?

For Maybank Credit Cards, we have to ask about the MCC on the day of the transactions. Otherwise, the record of the MCC will be purged from Maybank database after a day.

I would appreciate your advices on what I should say and what not to say, when I call UOB CS to seek clarification on no cashback for Telekom Malaysia bills, paid via UOB Payonline website.

For sure, I will not mention UOB Payonline.

If UOB ask about the following, how should I answer?

a) payment method or website, for this transaction?

b) what am I paying for? Can I safely say it as TMNet Streamyx Bill?

Thank again.

Just minutes ago, I called UOB CS, regarding the absence of cashback for TM Streamyx Bill paid via UOB PayOnline website (with the description of "TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD KL(HD) MY"). For sure, I did not mention about UOB PayOnline website at all.

The MCC of TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD KL(HD) MY is 4814 (Fax Services / Telecommunication service including local and long distance calls, credit card calls, calls through use of magnetic-strip reading), consistent with Merchant Category Code (MCC) CashBack list thread.

UOB CS said that 6% cashback is not given for TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD KL(HD) MY, because such transaction is classified as Utilities bills. The cashback exclusion is not due to MCC.

I explained that other Yolo credit card users managed to get the 6% cashback for the same transaction last month, and it is weird that UOB stops giving cashback for that particular transaction, starting from this month. But, UOB CS could not answer my question, and instead repeatedly insisted that utilities bill is the reason that the cashback is not given, as if UOB CS wanted to end the telephone call immediately. It felt like at that point, UOB CS gave any sort of excuses just to silence me, made me to give up asking for more clarification, so that I would not question about the lack of cashback anymore.

I guess that there is no way to salvage or reinstate the cashback for TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD KL(HD) MY. sad.gif

No worries, cybpsych. I am just making a small contribution to very helpful community here in this credit card subforum. smile.gif

Yeah, we do not get cashback paying TNB bill through TNB official portal (MyTNB). Hopefully, we can always get the 6% cashback, when we pay TNB bills through UOB PayOnline website.

Just for information gathering, can anyone here confirm that they managed to get 6% cashback on late January 2017, for TMNet Unifi / Streamyx Bill paid via UOB PayOnline website on December 2016, with the same description of "TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD KL(HD) MY"?

So, in short, there is no change to tnc of the UOB Yolo Credit Card, and UOB just somehow start to classify Telekom Malaysia as utility bill, starting from this month. hmm.gif

Yes, utilities bills are excluded from the cashback calculation.

But, different banks define utility bills differently. For Hong Leong Bank WISE card, the utility bills are strictly electricity and water.

I should have asked UOB CS the list of bills that are classified by UOB as utility bills, as advised by cybpsych, but I forgot. blush.gif

Hi future TS. Please update on first page maxis paid via UOB Payonline AND MaxisPay using MyMaxis App or online entitled to CB. Tried and got CB for Feb'17. However, wasted RM10+ CB for TNB using UOB Payonline. cry.gif
*
For your case, you gained 6% online cashback, for paying for Maxis Bill via Maxis Pay and UOB Payonline receptively.

Good to know that. smile.gif I always thought that it is safer to pay via Maxis Pay. After all, UOB Payonline may not entirely be a safe haven, for gaining online cashback.
