Yes, you will need to spend. Previously there was a forummer posted the same thing and didn't get 6% cash back. Only RM 20 due to the refund. If I'm not mistaken, the details are about the same as yours.

ya.. i saw that post as well but if not mistaken his case is exactly the same month (refund). so my plan is to spend in March one month later than the refund (feb).

I emailed UOB on this and below is their reply:

Dear 
Thank you for your email

Our telephone conversation refers ,we wish to inform that we will not deduct the cash rebate amount from your qualifying spending to earn cash back hence even if there is a credit earned from cash back , we will still take your original spending for that month as the qualifying spend for cash back

We have hereby attached the detailed terms and condition for the cash back for your references

Actually I called them and later emailed them. Both CS gave me the same answer.

I think so. I paid using UOB payonline and managed to max out my cashback last few months.

But I am not having two hearts - seems Standard Chartered Just one card is giving better cash back deals now. Not that I am complaining on yolo or UOB - they are great but standard Chartered Just One cashback up to 15% seems to be more enticing... If only I had known earlier... why nobody told me till now? Hence my post here - to enlighten others...
