Both are using the same gateway anyway. Up to you.
I only have UniFi account, so I pay for my own and pay for my friend (she gives me her OCC login to me).
Anyway, front page is updated. Anything I have missed out?

I would appreciate your advices on what I should say and what not to say, when I call UOB CS to seek clarification on no cashback for Telekom Malaysia bills, paid via UOB Payonline website.

For sure, I will not mention UOB Payonline.

If UOB ask about the following, how should I answer?

a) payment method or website, for this transaction?

b) what am I paying for? Can I safely say it as TMNet Streamyx Bill?

Thank again.

go around the bush biggrin.gif

I'd just say through online portal, transaction recorded as stated, you did key in otp during payment, previous month was eligible, etc.

start by asking the MCC. if possible, ask the MCC for last month's as well. this is to set the baseline that both occurrences are having same MCC.

next move on to ask why this month so special no cb awarded to same transaction that u gotten last month.

just need to know why not eligible, because of name? MCC? or what else?

if there's exclusion list of names, ask for it.

whatever the outcome, avoid paying tm via uobpayonline. move to mytm portal.

Just minutes ago, I called UOB CS, regarding the absence of cashback for TM Streamyx Bill paid via UOB PayOnline website (with the description of "TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD KL(HD) MY"). For sure, I did not mention about UOB PayOnline website at all.

The MCC of TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD KL(HD) MY is 4814 (Fax Services / Telecommunication service including local and long distance calls, credit card calls, calls through use of magnetic-strip reading), consistent with Merchant Category Code (MCC) CashBack list thread.

UOB CS said that 6% cashback is not given for TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD KL(HD) MY, because such transaction is classified as Utilities bills. The cashback exclusion is not due to MCC.

I explained that other Yolo credit card users managed to get the 6% cashback for the same transaction last month, and it is weird that UOB stops giving cashback for that particular transaction, starting from this month. But, UOB CS could not answer my question, and instead repeatedly insisted that utilities bill is the reason that the cashback is not given, as if UOB CS wanted to end the telephone call immediately. It felt like at that point, UOB CS gave any sort of excuses just to silence me, made me to give up asking for more clarification, so that I would not question about the lack of cashback anymore.

I guess that there is no way to salvage or reinstate the cashback for TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD KL(HD) MY. sad.gif

No worries, cybpsych. I am just making a small contribution to very helpful community here in this credit card subforum. smile.gif

Yeah, we do not get cashback paying TNB bill through TNB official portal (MyTNB). Hopefully, we can always get the 6% cashback, when we pay TNB bills through UOB PayOnline website.

Just for information gathering, can anyone here confirm that they managed to get 6% cashback on late January 2017, for TMNet Unifi / Streamyx Bill paid via UOB PayOnline website on December 2016, with the same description of "TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHD KL(HD) MY"?

So, in short, there is no change to tnc of the UOB Yolo Credit Card, and UOB just somehow start to classify Telekom Malaysia as utility bill, starting from this month. hmm.gif

The lowyat forums are so popular and well known these days. There are even banks advertising here (banner ads). Wont't be surprised that they are reading what we post to get ideas to close loopholes that reduce their profits

2 ways to look at this:

1) CS doesnt really know the system's behavior, simply whack "utilities" reason after seeing "telekom malaysia".

2) system has included exclusion list, first victim is TM via uobpayonline. this does not make sense when it comes to TNB via uobpayonline or TM via TMportals (myunifi occ/mytm). although different description, it is quite obvious payment is from TM as well.

let's see how this unfold sweat.gif
