They will be implementing back the 5% cashback for all transactions on weekends for Amex, capped at RM50 with no minimum spending. So don't really need the promo anymore I think..

Oh great! I wish the cashback was applicable for weekday too!!! brows.gif

I only received CB for a month whereas there was another month which I spent more than RM1k but no CB received! Found it weird as I read others received CB for several months except Oct month!

Weekdays? You kinda can forget about this. laugh.gif
Announcement is already out for this but full T&C is not yet out. Hopefully it reinstated back what it has removed back in August 2015.

So MBB is still paying out CB batch by batch?

Because I've only received 1 x CB for September so far whereas I spent >RM500 in a month and entitled for the 5% CB for weekend spending. hmm.gif

the cb is not guaranteed, and based on first-come first-served.

since mbb could've still tabulating the results, just keep waiting.

But I've got 1 spending already RM1k during the first weekend and haven't received any CB... It was an online purchase transaction.

Online purchase using foreign payment gateway sometimes can distort the transaction date to weekday. Have u check the recorded transaction date?

It was a local online purchase though. I wonder should I just wait or check with the bank... The transaction was in July some more...

This CB is only applicable for weekend transaction charged under AMEX? The transaction was charged under my Visa CC instead, does it mean I am not entitled for the CB?

I am still considered myself a new Maybankard2 holder tongue.gif

Luckily I didn't call the bank to demand for my CB... Haven't gone through the rest of the weekend transactions, I guess probably not under AMEX which is why only 1 CB credited to my account.

Based on the criteria, should be eligible if your spending is during weekend after 15th

If so, I'd cancel my auto billing!!!

Sushi King? Sushi King stops accepting American Express credit cards effective 1st February 2017.
Based on The Payment Card Reform Framework stipulated by Bank Negara Malaysia, regardless of whether credit card is Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card, merchant should pay same 1.1 % interchange fee to card issuer bank (bank that issues the credit cards to customers).

It seems that the card issuer bank illegally imposes much higher interchange fee for American Express credit cards,  to the merchants, thus the merchants stop accepting American Express credit cards, to keep operating cost down.

Anyone, any thought on this matter?  hmm.gif

I have no knowledge about this but if this is true, that's bad!

1) I am currently enrolled auto-billing for Astro under my AMEX, is it advisable to cancel it and pay during the weekend to enjoy 5% CB?

2) What about Telekom? I enrolled for auto-billing too under another credit card of mine. There's a rebate of monthly RM2 rebate for auto-billing but I guess 5% CB is still better??!!

1) Auto-billing will not ensure that the transaction will fall on weekend. Judge yourself

2) Weigh yourself if RM 2 is more or the amount of cash rebate from your monthly TM bill is more.
*
That's why I am considering to cancel both of my auto-billing and pay with AMEX card to enjoy 5% CB too! So I guess this is more beneficial than my current auto-billing subscription I suppose?

And anyone who can confirm both bills can be paid via AMEX online? TM & Astro.

More than RM1, let's say my monthly statement around RM90+ including GST, I pay RM70 manually using weekend 5% CB and the rest RM20+ will pay by Autopay.
I will get around RM3.50 from the 5% CB and RM2 rebate from TM.
*
Wow ~ I never thought of settling the payment this way to ensure I still enjoy RM2 rebate with 5% CB!!! Thanks!!! rclxms.gif

1.What channel to pay Astro through amex online?

2.Just pay rm22 less of your monthly charge on a weekend, monthly. Don't need cancel autodebit. You still have the rm2.
*
1. Maybank2u but I still haven't tried if I'd add Astro under my AMEX payee list. Will try that out later but I read it another forum that Astro doesn't accept AMEX. sweat.gif

2. I read another forumer advising the same thing which I never thought of! Guess I shall just do that next month onward to enjoy 5% CB and RM2 rebate!!!!

Autopay will pay the statement amount if not mistaken. In this case you have to pay during weekend before the statement date.
*
I will try it out this time, pay before the statement date (never really know when since it's auto-billed each month). Well, most probably pay first even before the due amount reflects in my account.

Okay, I just tried to add Astro to my payee list and I read that from Maybank page that 50 cents charged for each successful transaction. Can anyone confirm about this? There is no additional charge for bill payment in my another bank acocunt.

This is what is written from Maybank website:

1. Are there any charges for online bill payments?
There is a 50sen charge for each successful transaction to selected payee corporations. You will be notified when you make a payment to any of these corporations and the amount will be debited from your Maybank account.

For deposits to your Tabung Haji account, a 50sen fee will be debited from your Maybank account. Lembaga Tabung Haji also charges a fee of RM1 that will be debited from your Tabung Haji Account.

For education loan repayments to JPA (Pinjaman/Gantirugi), JPA charges a fee of RM1 that will be debited from your Maybank account.

It is already mentioned to "selected" payee. Not every payee.
You can try out by selecting AMEX as the account you want to debit from.
You can experiment till the page where you need to confirm for payment.
My guess is no charge since you mentioned no additional charge from your other Maybank account (CASA I believe).

Thanks, I am trying to do that for some of my bill payment. I just worry they might just simply deduct as I can't seem to find which are the selected payees.
