you can pay onto your card in advance for the difference. I will suggest about 12K and then you can swipe 20K

there are no such thing as when to apply for better chance of approval. As long as you work more than 3 months, meet the salary requirement and with a letter from your company there should not be a problem.

normally maybank need  record of loan repayment of how many months to approve credit card application?
I only have 4 months of loan repayment to date, is this sufficient? Or can i pay the loan in advance to make the records look better?
*
I got my 3 maybank CC without any loan repayment. As long as your CTOS and CCRIS is clean and you meet the salary requirement I don't see the reason why your application would be rejected unless you already have a few cards issued by other financial institutions.

because i was rejected by citibank credit card. When i tried to apply another card via imoney.com, their rep told me it is difficult to get card approved if i dont have record of repayment. my salary and statement is definitely fulfilled all the requirements, no outstanding debt, no PTPTN loan, i only have car loan that just started 4 months ago and i paid promptly every month. So i really have no idea why i got rejected.

Have you worked for 1 year yet and filed your tax? If so with the tax form I don't know what's its called will provide a stronger case for you

honestly MBB cards are not that attractive anymore. It used to be one of the top 10 but since they remove the weekend 5% cash back for AMEX its no longer a good deal.

May I know the difference between Gold and Platinum, aside from the requirement? I was informed both max credit depends on your earning, so no difference on that. Only two things I've found will have difference:

1) Travel Insurance for Platinum
2) Better discount for Agoda

Are these correct? And anything else? Thanks!
*
Plat have a toll free line for CS. For me I like the travel insurance because when I buy my air ticket with my card I get free insurance with it

thanks, there is no extra charge compares to Gold right? I am thinking of upgrading to Plat, but last time the Maybank staff didn't give good advice, he seems didnt have any clue himself. He ended up saying Gold is better because the max limit is the same, but for Plat you will "pay more". Based on  my own research, there is no extra charge, even the interest/penalty rate is the same. Correct?
*
With MBB especially Mayank 2 card there are no additional cost/AF. This is one of the cards that have no conditions whatsoever for free AF.

You're right that credit limit depends on your salary but if I were you for this card I will go for Plat for sure

I thought mastercard better rate

The difference is very small but the question was between visa and AMEX so MC is not part of the equation.

The better rate is higher than standard exchange rate or?
For example, today 1:4.45. Will Visa charge more than 4.45 or maybe lower than that?
*
Here is just an example.

VISA - 1 USD = RM 4.45
AMEX - 1 USD = RM 4.47

So if you're spending outside of Malaysia its not good for you because you will end up paying more on AMEX compared to VISA for the same amount spent in USD. Everynow and then AMEX gives a better rate but you will not know who will give you a better rate as you will only see it when the charge appears on your statement / transaction on online banking.

Guys, wanted to know it is easier to get my credit limit increase???

Maybank is known to be very kiamsiap on giving CL

My experience is Citibank gives you the best CL. Last time when I'm on clear card for a few years my CL is almost 60K and they keep increasing it annually

It comes in a pair.
The only option is you can either choose to pair your Amex with Visa of Mastercard.

For me the best combo from Maybank is get maybank2card Amex and visa and then get al ikhwan MC

This is what I have right now and you got all grounds covered

don't forget you can pump for more than 1 car. it's not necessary 1 person usage.
*
Well its per transaction so how do you suggest that you go over it? Line up 4 cars and pump all one after another without putting the pump back to the machine? What I said is this is really good news because its per transaction and not total per month.

somewhat I interpret the letter as in petrol transaction(s) with the s means that total transactions in a month below RM500 its 5X TP
