It's better to do a local call before you go overseas. In my recent experience, too busy and forgot to call MBB. No issue to swipe and pay overseas. However, within 5 minutes, my phone rings and CS asked if I'm at XX shop at YY city. So, you will get charged for roaming.

Of course, if you don't pickup, your next swipe maybe blocked till CS can contact you.
*
So they still do this. mad.gif
When I called in Dec, the CS confirmed don't need to call in anymore. He confirmed it's not needed and I was worried of roaming charges too becsuse I got that when I was in Japan two years ago.
Looks like I will better call to inform them again for my next trip to India on end of this month.

before i went to perth last year i called MBB to enable oversea transaction, they also said actually no need to call and inform  hmm.gif

Yes, I was told the same thing too but if they still call to verify, really defeat the purpose. At the end incur more charges to users. laugh.gif

Not really.. my last trip to Bangkok in May last year I swipe my AMEX for dining a few times and also during hotel checkout.. all get through without receiving any call from CS.. and i didn't inform MBB that im going oversea before my trip also.. hmm.gif
*
By luck I guess. I did receive call when I went to Japan. I forgot to call them that time.
Anyway, I rarely swipe their card. It's OK.

Exactly. Asked us not to call in but still call us for verification. laugh.gif doh.gif

This is just my unverified speculation.

Maybank CS advised us not to call them prior to going to foreign country, probably because Maybank do not want us to call the toll-free telephone number for this reason (deemed petty and insignificant by Maybank), and Maybank can deploy lesser CS officers to handle the calls, incurring lower cost.
In the event that Maybank CS is unable to check with us when we use the cards in foreign country, our Maybank credit cards may be blocked, and thus we are inconvenienced and saddled with hefty roaming charges. In short, it is best to call Maybank CS prior to going to foreign country.
I just follow the wise advice given by lilsunflowernotworthy.gif
*
I don't think your first reason is valid. It's applicable to all levels of cards and use different no. Not using the general line, either Plat/VS or Premier lines. How much can they save?

Not an issue to call but they will repeat the same thing, not to call them again. Anyway, the next time I go again, I will ask call and ask them the reason.

*
Top up your credit using CDM or interbank from other banks. Cannot use M2U as it won't allow to pay excess payment.

*
Yes. Provided you don't have existing outstanding amount and that RM 9k is untouched.

I only have 4 months of loan repayment to date, is this sufficient? Or can i pay the loan in advance to make the records look better?
*
Why need loan repayment to apply CC? blink.gif

because i was rejected by citibank credit card. When i tried to apply another card via imoney.com, their rep told me it is difficult to get card approved if i dont have record of repayment. my salary and statement is definitely fulfilled all the requirements, no outstanding debt, no PTPTN loan, i only have car loan that just started 4 months ago and i paid promptly every month. So i really have no idea why i got rejected.
*
Just keep trying. smile.gif Probably try first with the salary crediting bank.

my salary crediting bank is ocbc, their card not attractive in terms of perks. Used to use MBB as salary crediting, hope can have chance on MBB CC.
*
Just try applying from MBB and if they reject it then appeal.

"2. If I make a transaction of RM60, how many TreatsPoints will I earn?
The minimum value per transaction is RM30, therefore you will be rewarded with 5 points."

What if I pay RM30 & RM30 in a separate transaction? means 2 times I pay to the same bill ID. I should get 10 points right?

Erm. What card is this and where did you see this?

Try my luck just now at KLCC for maybank2cards..apply before lunch and the mbb staff told me can get the card in 2hours if approved..so i went back to office..then i call mbb to check my status, unfortunately got rejected..donno what is the reason..ask the customer service they told approval is subject to management..

I suspect it is due to my PTPTN load got CCRIS record which i hv settled the outstanding and have PTPTN letter saying already clear..yeah i forgot to bring along the PTPTN as supporting document..do u think i can just go back to mbb and appeal to them and show them the letter from ptptn..

i dont think it is due to high commitment as with more than 60k annual income with only housing loan rm1k and 2cars with rm1.2k should be ok i suppose
*
Can try to appeal again with PTPTN letter. Try sending them an email.
