wow, not aware of that.  that means if 1 person holds 10 credit cards with say 50K CL for each card, that's equivalent to 500K of loan taken already though he may only use not more than 10% of CL?
*
in short yes. but i believe there's much more complicated algorithm behind that.

your credit limit is considered as 'loan' as well. in short, the higher your credit limit, the lower the amount of loan you can get.
*
Is this confirmed? Not that I'm aware of based on the people around me, still can get good loan amount though with high credit limit.

can't say for sure since banks don't reveal their criteria of approving loan or credit card but:

http://www.yourmortgage.com.au/article/how...ion-117519.aspx

wouldn't be far off

Just wondering: I recently converted my Maybank 2 Card to Maybank Ikhwan Mastercard. I assumed that the previous 2 cards are cancelled, so I stashed them somewhere. However, both cards still appear on my M2u even after 1 month has passed. And just a few minutes ago, I received my AMEX's credit card statement in my email. But I tried using both card to pay for something online, and they both get declined, so it's definitely cancelled.

Is this something normal?

Yes normal. You will need to inform CS to remove them from your M2U. It will then take few days to disappear from M2U though.

For transactions above RM300, Cardmembers will receive 1X TreatsPoint
for every RM1 spend.

So MBB want everyone to spend below RM300 huh ?

Nah it's just that simple, high credit utilisation would mean that you rely mainly on credit to fund for you're daily expenditure. Try to keep it below 20% before any loans.
