Does foreign dining transaction counts towards the 5% rebate?

When do they credit the promo rebate for the 5% weekend for all transactions which ended 31 December?
*
QUOTE(eddievh @ Jan 2 2017, 05:20 PM)
Supposedly only for local transactions but there are forummers posted before getting cash back for overseas dining. I haven't tried before, I only used MACH before in overseas and got my cash back.

Regarding the promo rebate, should be only credited in February but it's not a guaranteed cash back.

i thought it's either you opt for signature or to use pin and pay. didn't know you can't opt for neither. hmm.gif

Like McD's, no signature and PIN required even slot in AmEx.

How about after 1/1/2017 and the PIN require for MCD
*
PIN & Pay is mandatory to be implemented only on 1st July. Banks require to change all cards before 1st Jan.

oh i see.

my earlier reference was based on own experience for other cc. i haven't used my amex for a long long time....
*
Yes, my experience with other merchants also the same, either PIN or signature unless I am informed by merchants that they will use PayWave then no need to input PIN or sign. biggrin.gif

maybank (NATIONWIDE)system down happened to me while i was shopping at parkson 1U around nov 2016. (parkson uses mbb card terminal)
after much negotiation with cashier, they allow me to swipe the card by old fashion way (magnetic swipe), up to rm1k.
it was posted 3 weeks after the transaction

this is so shameful for maybank, as it is the largest bank of malaysia.
*
I still have one transaction which yet to be posted since Feb 2016. I used my MBB Ikhwan. laugh.gif
Posting depends on merchants though, I don't think it has anything to do with Maybank. smile.gif

QUOTE(stanum @ Jan 4 2017, 08:36 PM)
guys,

would like to ask here, as for credit limit for platinum duo card, what is the lowest? as of now i am getting 15k, but really like to reduce it to the lowest if possible.

another is, as for credit limit is shared among principal and supplement, i would like to limit supplement for certain amount that i decide, can i do that?

i know i can ask Maybank Contact Centre, but its really hard to get through them, so i hope it is ok i ask here smile.gif
*
For M2Cards Plat's CL starts from 15k, I guess that's the lowest but you may request to reduce. Try emailing instead of calling them, avoid the hassle.

Some hotels use dining MCC, probably they just use a standardised terminal from their F&B. Few hotel cases reported before. thumbup.gif

You can contact them via email and need to provide the necessary documents.
I just submitted mine in KLCC and the staff helped me to fill in a form.

That's all for me.

btw, got any diff between gold and platinum  except for the complimentary insurance ?

Yes, that's all. Plus it has a shared hotline with VS which I appreciated a lot but these days, it's not picked up like the general line. dry.gif

If can qualify ma just upgrade lo. I'm not sure about you guys but for me this is how I keep track of my "card" progress. laugh.gif Just for Maybank, they offered me back in 2011 when this combo was first introduced and I got their Gold card, then I was lazing around in 2014 to upgrade to Plat but still did it in early 2015. Last year was thinking if I should apply for their VS since it has a whopping AF amount, hesitated a while but since Wise revised its benefits, I was like WTH just apply for it, at least first year is free. So now I have it and can use for groceries every day. laugh.gif

No right and wrong actually, just do whatever you want. biggrin.gif

No according to the t&c, your have had charge the travel expenses to your card, i believe for those for diy don't follow tours, must at least charge the air tix to the mbb...

PS: the only time i wish i had platinum (i am strictly not qualified) is when booking on agoda.com.
*
Yes, need to charge it on this card to be entitled for travel insurance.

Didn't know there's a difference in term of discount but these days many cards give 7% cash back too right?

I got a question, can I use Amex to purchase MacBook online? And doing instalment plan with 0% interest.
*
You can use AmEx to purchase MacBook online, I presume from Apple Store.
About 0% interest, I don't think so...

If you want 0% interest, you can try Epicentre. They have 0% for Maybank cards and AmEx can do 0% installment there. smile.gif

Maybank's 0% BT already ended on 31st Dec. You gotta wait till next promo (if any).

QUOTE(Kamm Matt @ Jan 20 2017, 08:37 AM)
received my mbb 2 gold card (amex+gold visa not mastercard) last week, get it activated and set the pin..

my question is.. why everytime i use my amex card at the gas station.. i will get an sms notification says i've pumped up RM200 at that station.. even i dont lift the filler

the behaviour just like you using an debit card.. that rm200 will float around 2-3 days.. does this matter is normal with MBB amex card?

however this problem didnt occur with my another card MBB visa gold card.. and i keep wondering why i get visa not master?  innocent.gif
*
This is called pre-authorised amount. It will block this amount from your credit limit, once actual amount is posted, RM 200 will bw returned to your credit limit.
