I read the customers reviews posted in Amazon.com on Pumping Nylon. Received good reviews but not for complete beginner. But I guess valuable addition to aspiring guitarist arsenal of instructional books.
Thanks for the info Rithrade |

I'd like to suggest :
Troy Stetina Series, ie 1) Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar plus for metalheads, 1a) Heavy Metal Rhythm Guitar vol 1 & 2 1b) Heavy Metal Lead Guitar vol 1 ( I heard vol 2 is quite tough... Malmsteen would sweat Maybe alternative to Hanon exercise & Pumping Nylon, I personally would get Speed Mechanics. IMHO, Pumping Nylon caters for classical and Hanon is piano... but can adapt the exercise. This post has been edited by Banzai_san: Feb 7 2007, 11:05 AM |

QUOTE(-YS- @ Feb 11 2007, 04:10 PM) Haha..I keep thinking of MACHINE! Anyway, taiwan is selling for 435 NT and shipping cost for about 350NT which total 785NT convert to RM is RM82+ Thats quite cheap. Amazon costs book USD 14.16 + shipping USD 11.98 = USD 26.14 which is equivalent to ~ RM (26.14 *2.5) = RM 91.50 |

QUOTE(-YS- @ Feb 12 2007, 02:24 PM) Where u get those CDs? And when you listen to the cd, what materials u refer to? Is it its stated inside the cd? All lessons are via listening to the CD, but need you practise with own instrument. Meaning, lessons are taught in the CD but to get result, you need to do the lesson with your instrument (guitar or piano or etc...) I bought the CDs from http://www.perfectpitch.com but I bought both the perfect pitch and relative pitch courses |

yup, its expensive.
Did it help...? well Im still in the early stages of Pitch Perfect course and Ive not put much effort. What I can say is, I have the feeling that if I really put effort on the lessons, I really believe I'm able to achieve a pitch perfect hearing. Although Im a little lazy, but I do not regret splashing that much money for a course that I think will deliver its promise. Just that I think I need a strict teacher with a long cane to monitor my musical lessons.. The concept is different (I think) from other courses (not that Ive tried others). The way Pitch perfect does is identifying the 'colors' of pitch, eg A has a different 'color' than A# for example. Once you've achieved the color recognition, you'll be easy to identify any note. Not like some course that rely on memorizing the pitches of the notes. |
