Hi there!

Just recently bought and assembled my new rig using the Asus B150M-A motherboard. I noticed that after I've shut or hibernate the system, the motherboard LEDs and computer peripherals are still powered on but the fans and windows are switched off (incl psu which is Hexa 500w ).

How do I disable this feature? As it is a bit dangerous that the system can randomly just power back on when a button is pressed on the mouse or the keyboard.

Thank You.

Generally, if you have shut down or hibernated your PC, a touch on the peripherals will not turn the PC back on.

if you want to disable powering on your PC with mouse/kb then go to your BIOS and disable Power On by keyboard/mouse options, but this is only for PS/2 not USB.

also can try go to Device Manager there, and check the mouse Power Management, untick Allow device to wake computer, but this should be for sleep mode not shutdown i think.

in the BIOS, under APM section > ERP Ready, set it to Enabled/Enabled(S4+S5). this will turn off the mobo LED and mouse/kb LED when shutdown.

it should also cut power from the USB ports so you cannot charge your USB devices after shutdown. remember to uninstall the USB Charger software in ASUS Ai Suite for this to work (if you have it installed). also your PSU need to be ERP ready, some older one might not support this.

Many thanks. This was the solution to the problem. Now the whole system remains switched off after shutdown/hibernate.
