If your home button failed Apple has built in temporary on screen home button for use until you get it repair.

The new home button is superb, the speaker is even better, don't have to crank all the way to the max, below 50% is enough to enjoy the music in the living hall.

You will get use to it. I am using option one, just light press. If you like the old home button feel then use option 3, need harder presss.

For first time iOS users, you can get some free iOS guides in iBook top charts. Of course there are also plenty of tips and tricks on the net, depending on what is your preferable.
