1. Obtaining Gold
2. Obtaining Astrogem
3. Using Astrogem
4. Progressing through MSL
5. Evolving, Ascension, Rebirth, and Soulstones
6. Shady Shop
7. Equipment Gems
8. Fruit
9. Astromon League
10. Tower of Chaos
11. Dungeons
1. Obtaining Gold
Gold is a necessity in the game and can easily become scarce in the early stages of the game for new players if used carelessly. Gold can be obtained in many different ways, some being easier and others more difficult and time consuming. Releasing Astromon can give Fruit, Gold, or a chance for Astrogems (3☆+ Astromon).Completing Missions or Quests, Selling Equipment gems, Spending Astrogem for Gold, Beating maps in the Gold Dungeon, Clearing floors in Tower of Chaos.
2. Obtaining Astrogem
Since it's self-explanatory for how P2P players obtain gems, here are some ways that F2P players can obtain gems. Login rewards, Astroguide for Obtaining new units and Evo. Level, Missions, Quests, Events, Finding Nez on your ship, Releasing 3☆+ Astromon for a chance at Astrogem, Weekly reward from Astromon League depending on your rank. Within the first few hours of playing, by completing your Missions, Quests, and/or Events you should have around 600 Astrogems.
3. Using Astrogem
This part is where many people may have different views on how they should use their Astrogem, but this is how I use my Astrogem. Using 600 Astrogem on the 10+1 Summon in the Special Shop. This is the best use of your Astrogem early on in the game to give yourself a stronger start. The units you obtain may or may not be good but will be useful nonetheless and you should earn around 100 Astrogems from the Astroguide. All if not most of the units that you obtain are great units when you Equipment Gem them correctly although there are units that shine brighter than others. Sometimes using 10 Astrogem to beat a boss is worth it, other times it is not. It depends on your situation and how badly you want to beat it because regardless you will end up beating it, having spent 10 Astrogem or not.
4. Progressing Through MSL
With gold being such a scarce resource early on in the game, after spending the first 600 Astrogem on your 10+1 summons. Having a balanced leveled team of different element Astromon with at least 1 or 2 of Fire, Wood, and Water will make progressing through the game easier since map tend to have duo or trio element enemies. You WILL need to have a wide range of Astromon elements to use to be successful in the long run of the game. Max Lv. Astromon distribute their EXP to other Astromon after beating a map. Mono-type teams are almost useless in most situations, but can be used in certain areas in the Dungeon. You should always + your gems as long as they fit your stat needs because it will make your team stronger. Water Seirin should go for flat HP gems with flat HP main stat early on since her base Health is not high enough to take advantage of %HP stats. Once you have a balanced and decent team, you should be able to progress through Normal with ease and likewise with Hard as long as you keep upgrading your Equipment gems to stronger versions. By this point, you should have a lot of spare Equipment gems that you can sell for gold which will replace the need to spend Astrogem on Gold with selling Equipment gem for Gold.
Notable Units: I will not go into full depth on them
Fire Wildfang: HP Heal Proportional of Attack
Fire Yuki: Glass Cannon (High Attack Low Health)
Water Seirin (Evo. Farmable): Self Heal 20% of HP
Water Wildfang: Okay Tank, 100% Stun if Crit
Wood Mona(Evo. Farmable): Self Heal 20% of HP
Wood Boltwing (Evo. Farmable but hard to farm): Team Heal at 5*
Latts: Leader Skill good for Astormon League
Light Miho (Evo. Farmable): Good Tank (High Defense) with Taunt
Light Victoria: Def Increases Attack
Glos (Evo. Farmable): Leader Skill good for everywhere
Dark Miho (Evo. Farmable): HP Increases Attack
5. Evolving, Ascension, Rebirth, and Soulstones
Evolving is increasing the Evolution state of an Astromon from Evo. 1 to Evo. 2 to Evo. 3. by using duplicate Astromon. Evolution does not require a certain Level. Using a Variant as awakening material makes the evolved Monster a Variant. To reach Evo. 2, you require 4 of the same Astromon for awakening material at Evo. 1 of any element including your main one. To reach Evo. 3, you require 4 of the same Astromon for awakening material at Evo. 2 of any element including your main one. In total, you would require 16 duplicate Astromon to go from Evo. 1 to Evo. 3. If you already have an Evo. 3 Non-Variant Astromon, you can use an Evo. 1 Variant Duplicate Astromon as Awakening Material to make the Evo. 3 into a Variant Astromon. Gleems are units that can replace an Astromon depending on if it is the same element. (This is useful for Nat 4☆s and 5☆s because it would decrease the amount of duplicates you need). Awaken Astromon Material does not matter about their level, the stats that go up are static and won't change even if you use a leveled Astromon as Awaken Material. Ascension resets the Level of a Max Level Astromon and increases the ☆ of an Astromon and increases the Level Cap. To Ascension, you must have the required Starstone/Elementstone which is farmable in the Dungeon once you unlock it. Once a monster reaches 3☆/5☆, it learns its 3☆/5☆ passive skill. Rebirth is sacrificing 5 NATURAL 3☆+ to obtain a random rotation of units. Each Variant used in Rebirth raises the chance of result to be a Variant by 5%. Soulstones are another way of summoning an Astromon by collecting the Astromon's soulstone from either the Soulstone dungeon, purchasing from the Shady Shop, or from the free Adventure Package (Mihos).
6. Shady Shop
Shady Shop's inventory resets every hour. The item that is one sale should always be bought whenever you have the chance. Purchasing <Mid> Fruit is an okay investment if you want to use it to level up your Astromon. Purchasing Starstones/Elementstones are an okay investment if you want to Ascension your Astromon and the Element Dungeon for your Astromon isn't for a few days. Purchasing the <High> Secret Egg isn't a good investment in my opinion because you're spending 130k on the potential of summoning another 3☆. Purchasing the <Low> Light/Dark Egg is a good investment because there is a potential of getting a decent 3☆ Light/Dark Monster. Purchasing 4☆ and 5☆ Astromon soulstones are a good investment because it will eventually get you the Astromon you desire.
7. Equipment Gems
You can obtain Equipment Gems based on their region in the two continents. Intuition (+20% Crit Rate), Ruin (+40% Crit Damage), and Vitality (+25% Recovery) are only obtainable through Golem Dungeons or purchasing from the Shady Shop. You should always upgrade your Equipment Gems to give your units a boost in stats: I tend to do 3☆ +6, 4☆ +9, 5☆ +12, 6☆ +15; but it may not always be the case, I have some 3☆ at +9 and some 4☆ at +12.These Main Stats are unique to these shapes: △ Gem = Crit DMG% Main Stat | □ Gem = Crit Rate% Main Stat | ♢ Gem = Resist. % Main Stat.I recommend always + your Gems even if they are low *, even a +3 can make a big difference.
8. Fruit
You can use your <Low> Fruit to level up new Astromon but I wouldn't recommend using it after it reaches a point where the EXP is minuscule.
9. Astromon League
You should always use your League Tickets whenever you have them because the rewards you can get are substantial. In the League Medals Shop, you can purchase a Wood, Fire, or Water Gleem of your choice once a week (resetting every Monday 12:00am Your time) for 150 League Medals. You can also purchase Astromon Eggs and Astromon Variant Eggs if you save enough League Medals. The higher rank you are in the Astromon League, the higher Astrogem you will receive once a week after the Astromon League resets.
10. Tower of Chaos
Tower of Chaos has different types of rewards every 5th floor and is an okay use of Energy.
11. Dungeons
Based on the Starstone and Element Dungeon you try, you can obtain Starstone, Elementstone, or a <High> Secret Egg. The Element Dungeon changes once a day and you can check when the Element Dungeon you need through the Dungeon Info at the bottom of the Dungeon list. The Gold Dungeon resets daily and is a good investment of Energy since in comparison to the Continents, the Gold per Energy ratio is high. The Guardian Dungeon can only be explored if you or a friend has found a Dungeon of the selected Astromon after Continent Stages. You obtain Astromon soulstones which you can use to summon the Astromon. Golem Dungeon allows you to obtain any Equipment Gems from a ☆ range.
End. Enjoy the game at your own pace. Don't try to do everything all at once if it's not you and never be urged into purchasing if you aren't able to at the moment. These kinds of games don't require money but it just speeds up the process as long as you're dedicated likewise with not spending at all. All of these are just tips for you to choose to follow and you aren't bound to have to do all of these. The units you choose to keep and Evolve is up to you because in the end, it's your game so play it as you see fit. I hope that you took something away from this and that you continue to enjoy Monster Super League. Enjoy the rest of your day Warrior of Order in the struggle against Chaos!
