After replacing my phone, I'm still having the white battery icon.... phone is on the latest firmware and I've this Battery status icon after I press the power button.... but but but the battery icon is WHITE!!!

I brought it to Samsung service centre, they couldn't help me...gosh....

Any body having the same issue?

Your unit must be gold color. Need to update firmware before the green battery appears.

Hi Note7 User,

Anyone still having 1st batch unit that have the battery icon turn to green now?
I notice the 2nd batch unit also white color until the software been update......
feel fishy ....
*
Nothing fishy about this. The gold units are the ones which needs software update before battery turns green as these are the first 'safe' batch manufactured before they decided to change the battery indicator to green.

This time ,all SC should be the processing point for all returns and refunds regardless where it was purchased from. The last exercise with their partners (Yes, Courts, Senheng, Maxis etc) was a mess with loads of confusion and differing instructions. Also, please look at compensation for accessories purchased which comes up to a tidy amount for every owner.

SME management do not know the ABCs of crisis management. More than 12 hours have passed since the global directive, still no whisper from SME.

my advice to all:
1. no need to call CS first. unlikely they will have any info on the process. if you push for it, good chance they will just try to come up with something logical like bring everything including freebies and then we file for refund. after all, if you wanna ask for refund, you need to return whatever you "bought".

2. be patient. the global halt got announced only yesterday. in Malaysia, ppl still sleeping. it takes time to formalise a plan, especially if it's just going to be a refund. Samsung need to know how to make payment -- cheque? bank transfer? then there's also those in contract and bought by partners... or even subsales.

it can sometimes take 1 day to come up with plan, 1 day for legal to approve (meaning it's legally correct and not open themselves to lawsuits) and probably another day for marketing to word things nicely...

we all know what will happen. there will be announcement saying there's investigation. samsung puts priority on safety. so, if can, power down and use some other phones... and wait for further updates.

i strongly believe we'll have our answers probably by Thu or Fri...

in the meantime, just pray harder. smile.gif

Least they can do is to issue a preliminary statement first rather than keep silent as if nothing is happening. 2 to 3 days wait is too long by all standards.

If they can design Note 8 to have similar shape , then all the accessories will not go to waste. Imagine the impact on the accessories manufacturers with stocks already produced for the world market.

Good idea..
But I think Samsung have others plans...
*
So far, shape was not the cause of the problems. It was the battery/technical flaws. So they can still retain the aesthetic outer design after correction of their flaws.... anyway the current shape is beautiful and I don't think anyone will mind if they retain this for Note 8. Just my two cents.....

Maybe it is implied that if Sg is open to 'loan' temporary device, it would suggest replacement. If not, can the consumer loan indefinately, if there was a refund and consumer takes forever to buy a replacement.

SME has not mentioned a word on compensation. This will anger every owner. I dare speculate that every owner had spent a minimum of rm200 on accessories for Note 7, which is now rendered useless. Owners will also not forget the cheap sp given out during the first exchange. The screen warranty is of no value now (and no cost to SME). Samsung's reputation in Malaysia is further damaged by the useless SME team which is ultra slow in response and ultra stingy when handling this issue.

Welcome to Malaysia  grin.gif

By the way, those who purchase extended warranty how? I think i will demand SME to refund full value of Note 7 which is 3199 and not the pre-order price as compensation.

Agree that this is a fair request.. full refund at official list price

SME will win the accolade of achieving the lowest payout in recallgate 1 & 2 amongst all Samsung companies but also generated the highest number of unhappy/dissatisfied customers. I wonder how SME's management are evaluated.

Blardy SME don't even want to update their fb. Scared of the barrage of complaints hitting their fb.

Why update FB when there are a lot of stupid haters which doesn't even own a Samsung smartphone will keep flame Samsung only, like what happened before during the previous recall. Just personally contact the Note 7 owners is enough.
*
Then shutdown their fb for good if it is not meant for communication/updates.

You don't see the official announcement from other Samsung Mobile facebook either.

However, you can refer to the announcement on their website

fb updates should be more current than website updates, no?

For the bold text, allow me to disagree. We didn't bought the accessories just because they look nice, but because we own the device and want to do our best to protect it from potential harm.

Now, the recall/refund is being issued by Samsung, not because we want to, but because Samsung messed up and they want us to bear the cost?

If I am the main root cause of causing my phone to explode, then I got no right to demand for compensation. However, this is not the case here right? They are the 1 at fault, no?
*
Agree. If it is another replacement, we will have no qualms as the accessories can still be recycled. With the refund and complete stoppage of Note 7, the accessories have become obsolete overnight! Not many people can afford to just chuck a couple of hundreds into the trashcan without battling an eyelid. What seem to rub it in further is that SME is obviously not behaving consistently with the other markets where some form of compensation is being offered. Why are Malaysian customers being treated less fairly versus other countries?

Note 7 bought at about 2,900.
Samsung trades in the note 7 for S7 edge.
S7 edge is priced at a pecial price of 1,500.
2,900-1,500 = 1,400 to be refunded to customer.

Good and fair suggestion.

Can we keep the freebies like power bank , wireless charger if we opt for full refund ? I already sold those freebies
*
As usual,Samsung will keep silent on this for a long while. If you check with them subsequently, you can expect the sequence of response as follows:
1. NO. You have to surrender ALL freebies for full refund.
2. Any freebies not surrendered will be deducted off from the refund amount.
3. I have received no instructions on the contrary
4. Let me check with the management and revert
5. Best to surrender all freebies to ensure hassle free refund
6. If you have lost some of the freebies, it should be ok
7.Inform the CS and register your case before return
8. Announcement: Please note our refund instructions are clearly stated at our website. Please adhere strictly.
9. Samsung partners: Check with Samsung. Samsung: Check with our partners
10. During actual return: Decision is Free for all. Up to the person handling the return.
