With all due respect, Samsung screwed up and they gotta bite the bullet and move on.
It's the correct thing to do to discontinue this model which will scar them for a long time now. While I've been using both iphone / ipads as well as androids phone for some time now, I agree that iphone have a very nice ecosystem and optimization but I would still go for android as my daily driver because of the restriction it imposed. With note 7 u can just plug a pendrive into the phone and start transferring files, with IPhone well though luck. Transferring files via bluetooth or wifi direct on the iOS is also a pain in the ass so yeah. For heavy productivity users Android is still the way to go |

QUOTE(Necromancer @ Oct 11 2016, 11:22 PM) Been using Note since the first generation and this whole Note 7 fiasco saddens me. I have no words left to defend Samsung except for the fact that probably QC wasn't conducted thoroughly or some parties are truly involved in sabotaging the company. Nevertheless, they have to own up to the problem, which they're certainly doing so. I'm considering Pixel, or get a mid-end phone like maybe a nexus 6p to last me a year until the next "NOTE" series successor comes out. Or perhaps the next pixel which might be even more powerfulCurrently waiting for more news to get refund for those who have gotten the replacement models. Also putting some serious thought into which phone should I get as a substitute. This is no easy task. It is extremely difficult if you've been using Note for years. Closest thing would probably be the S7 Edge for now but I'm not a fan of the sides which are too curved and the lack of stylus. With rumors on how the S8 would be like, I also find quite "shortchanged" in terms of time factor to get the S7E. Besides the S7E, I'm also looking at the LGV20 (does not look as sexy as the N7 unfortunately), One Plus 3 (the camera could make me regret) and the Google Pixel. What will most of you guys be getting? |

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Oct 11 2016, 11:29 PM) nowaday I use Google Drive a lot. So transfer file is not using pendrive because sometimes you also searching for pendrive. Sometimes you dont want to access your google drive in public pc as you might not know if there are keylogger or malware on that pc. I dont feel secure accessing emails on public pc so to me for highly confidential docs i prefer to transfer via pendrives.iOS also got google drive https://itunes.apple.com/app/google-drive/id507874739 |

QUOTE(Necromancer @ Oct 11 2016, 11:44 PM) So you're saying that you will continue to use it? Or will you just be keeping it as a part of your collection? Either way, it will never make it to our shores. This is tragic, we don't even live to see and feel the Blue Coral. Pretty sure they will continue coming out with phones with stylus and big screen but doubt it will be name NOTE anymore. The Huawei range looks good especially the P9 since I'm quite a heavy Insta user but yeah, they still seem to be quite far from what the Note series has been offering. The experience has spoiled us all I believe. It would be infuriating to see Samsung discontinuing the Note series just from this fiasco alone. Correct me if I'm wrong but it has been the Phablet which has set the benchmark for the other players. So far, none has managed to reach this level, not even in terms of how it blows. 1st is there is already a note 10.1 and note 8.0 tablet 2nd is the NOTE series has been tainted with and will be forever linked with this line of phone that will explode. |
