Wow your friend S7e is a rare  super super fast charging phone....even say is 30 mins while 60 mins isn't even possible!" Most S7e users will say is grossly untrue...90+ mins is more likely from empty. I was a previous S7e user too
*
I cam attest to that. I own both the S7E and N7 and I would say charging time for the S7E on fast charge from 5 % to 100% would be around slightly less than 1 1/2 hours.

Just installed batman s7e se theme on note 7. Awesome!

I read you need to mod some files to make it work on the S7E. Should be the same for the Note 7.

As a known fact among forummers here at LYN, these phone specific threads are for the said specific phone owners and potential owners to post any questions, suggestions and reviews about the said phone. While constructive criticisms are mostly welcome here, its sad to say that most of the comments here are more towards trolling. Please be reminded this is the android forum and not your usual K'. What I noticed is a lot of K's started lurking in this thread and posting like there were in K' and hence the trolls and nonsense in this thread.

I'm a Note 7 user myself and I did power down my phone when the announcement came from Samsung to do so. I have replaced my set and am using it again as my daily driver. I find the Note 7 as the best android to meet my needs at the moment compared to my other android and IOS phones which are laying in my drawer.

My suggestion is, for all you k's, haters, disbelievers, fence sitters, non note 7 owners, its really up to you on what you want to believe in on the Note 7. My word of advice, if you still think the phone will post a threat to you and your life, then don't buy it but please do stay clear of the this thread so that the real owners of the phone can discuss about the phone here in a peaceful manner. Your unconstructive posts, trolls are not really helping and owners might find your posts offensive and hence the arguments here.

so guys the symptoms of the kaboom phones are over heating ? and irregularities of the battery.

means if our battery works fine, lasting..no over heat..we don't have to worry so much right ?
*
I dont see any reason to be worried unless Samsung issues a recall again. The phone works fine and rarely even warms up. I just dont understand the "concern" especially amongst the non owners.

They disabled it in one of the software updates. Replacement or not it's disabled.

Im still getting the "fast charging" sign turned on on my replacement phone but the charging has slowed down tremendously like no fast charging at all. Yesterday I charged both my S7 Edge and Note 7 together at the same time with 10% charge left. The note 7 was on wireless fast charger and I purposely put my S7 Edge on normal Samsung charger (non fast charge) and guess which phone finished charging first?

Wireless fast charging is slower than plug in fast charging.
*
Let me correct that, wireless fast charging is slower than plug in normal charging. And the S7 Edge battery is supposed in higher capacity then the Note 7.

Possible. Since they did remotely limited the battery capacity on Note 7. I won't be surprised at all if they can remotely disable the phone as well.
*
Yes, Samsung can definately do that. Unless of course you turn off all data and wifi but of course that would be impossible.

Disable all update checking, remote help, diagnostics reporting...

Easiest way, install alternative ROMs

That would be work. But then again, if it is to be recalled, then no point holding on to it right?

Just filled up the refund form, will get my refund within a week (transfer to my bank account).

They say I can get my refund immediately because it is not the replaced unit (Yes, I have not return my Note 7 for the new one with the green battery icon), but to those replaced unit will get to refund, but not now, will need to wait for SME announcement.

Don't even need to go the Samsung Service Center, I just filled up the form at where I take my Note 7 from. Too lazy to read if anyone provided this information, sorry if they did.

Thanks for highlighting these important info here.

I think Samsung did want to fix. But since they already lost their market in US (all 4 major US carriers dropping the sales of Note 7), they might as well terminate the whole product line asap. Afterall, even if they fix it in the future, they cannot guarantee if the market still buy it. Just my 2 cents.
*
Rather than getting "attacked" from all quarters for all the wrong reasons, I would agree that this would be the best move by Samsung.

Ps.... not only Samsung is getting 'attacked', even Note 7 users are not spared for whatever reason is. shakehead.gif
