Agreed. This phone is definitely less heat than the previous one

For the charging speed, it is definitely Samsung has done something on it , thencharginf speed is slower than before
*
If indeed the charging speed for the replacement Note 7 units are confirmed slower than the previous batch (especially during fast charging), then Samsung is very likely keeping a BIG secret from all of us. Meaning there is an inherent design / engineering flaw within the Note 7 itself whereby even changing the battery cannot resolve the issue. This certainly is bad. Cheating their own customers is a serious no-no.

will be pening kepala since they only call the real 1st owner.
*
I wonder how is the owner going to handle this case.

After all, most pre-order buyers / owners sold it for RM3,199 or so. But the actual price they paid for is RM2,800 or lower (which is probably the amount that Samsung Malaysia will refund).

The question is, will the 2nd / 3rd hand buyers get back RM3,199 from the owner or just RM2,800?

telco... iinm, contracts will be cancelled. no penalty.
*
The telcos themselves would lose a lot of revenue from cancelled contracts. I wonder behind-the-scenes if Samsung Malaysia will reimburse them or not.

Samsung will of course return back the ori price sold, which is 2899. The rest go claim back from your scalper.
*
Then the scalpers will say the additional amount is their 'service charge' or 'commission'. rclxub.gif

Do not look good to maxis zerolution owner. Struggle few month for this and now have to choose new sub-bar phone compare with note 7. Even worse for those jump because of note 7 for this plan.
*
Good point. Will Maxis also rebate the monthly Zerolution upgrade fee and monthly insurance for the first 1-2 months for the Note 7? If they don't, that's really crappy and disappointing to the subscribers.

i say s7edge... and i'm sure u say sth abt u not liking it...

so, the thing is... better u list your requirements la...
*
Note 7 is better in every way than the S7 edge, in my opinion.

Refund for Original Note 7 or AP as well ?
*
Good luck to those with AP sets. The phone probably passed through so many hands and middle-men, will be near impossible to locate the original first owner.

*
Yes, first month rebated, but I think this is the 2nd or is it 3rd month already.

Looks like Samsung place the battery too close to the edge.

*
Unlikely.

Remember that the battery glitch was supposed to be fix in the replacement sets. Such issues they would have easily foreseen.

base on the statement, looks more like courts will contact u. i dont want to deal with courts. they cant make any decision or do any negotiation!
*
Fully agreed, Samsung Malaysia should just release a full press statement like what Samsung Singapore did including details on what to return, what is the exact refund, etc.

Regarding the possible root cause of the Note7's problems, one of the Korea newspaper (韓國先驅報) did point out 3 possibilities.

http://news.cnyes.com/news/id/3572525

It's in chinese version. So let me sum it up for you who cannot read chinese.

1. IP68.

2. Fast charging

3. Software
*
IP68 and Fast Charging already present in Samsung S7 edge which have no issues.

Only software is the differing factor...

SME will win the accolade of achieving the lowest payout in recallgate 1 & 2 amongst all Samsung companies but also generated the highest number of unhappy/dissatisfied  customers. I wonder how SME's management are evaluated.
*
Well said. I wonder what can we do to demand the compensation that we deserve.

Do you still remember where people used to say that IP68 is impossible for Note series since it got S-Pen? But at the end, Samsung did it in Note 7. So may be the IP68 technology in Note 7 is different compared to S7/S7 edge. As for the fast charging part, Note 7 is the first samsung device that using USB Type C. That's another difference between Note 7 & S7/S7 Edge.
*
Good observation there.

Come to think of it, Samsung does not use official USB Type-C fast charging which is at 3A. But rather they used back standard fast charging technique, the same one on their micro-USB models.

As long as Samsung Malaysia is willing to pay back everything which you paid for, I doubt KPDNKK would bother.

Thanks for sharing. Good information.

If that is the case, then we buyers really have a case against Samsung if they seem to be stingy on reimbursements.

Bought Honda Civic, self installed aftermarket GReddy body kit.

Civic recalled, you think Honda/GReddy will refund you? Boy you are too naive. The real world doesn't turn the way you think.
*
I saw many pre-order Note7 owners sold off their units in Garage Sales here for price of RM3.2k or so (before the first case happened - SouthWest airplane fire)

But since Samsung Malaysia will only refund around RM2.8k, so those 2nd/3rd hand buyers can only get back RM2.8k? The remaining RM400 can consider as burnt?

Any thoughts?

Is there a time limit for this refund or exchange?

The website is quite vague on this.

Thanks.
*
I doubt there is a time limit. After all, this is all Samsung's own fault and none of the user's fault. If a user comes to Samsung few months or a year later, Samsung must still honour the exchange / refund.

Any chance of the other android rivals like O brand, V brand, H brand etc doing sabo on samsung?

If samsung fall,  the biggest gainer are them....
*
If this was true, Samsung would not have proceeded with the official global recall.

No point speculating all these conspiracy theories.

to those who wanna keep the Note7.. yes, we know your rich enough to just forget about the refund.. but here's the thing..

what happens if it catches fire while you're in an elevator. I definitely would appreciate if you take the next one, if I know we're waiting for the elevator

also.. where do you plan to store the phone? where it will not catch fire and burn down your house.. and your neighbor's house? there's been videos showing the phone going up in smoke even while not being charged

do you plan to remove the battery?

or.. how about when you're driving at 100kmh and the phone suddenly catches fire.. there's a truck behind you...

if a person is having flu, the right thing to do is stay at home.. or if need to go out, wear a mask and avoid infecting others. will you do that?
*

what if the idiot driver next to you drive while drunken or under drugs.

what if the person who walk into the elevator is mentally challenged and have a violent temper that is easily triggered.

did you do a full body checkup to make sure no brain tumors so that when you drive you don't lose control of the car and kill the people around you?

did you know that ALL new smartphones if you bend it enough or impact it enough, the phone also will alight and explode? since then, should you ban yourself from ever using a smartphone because there's a probability of that happening no matter how small?

etc etc
*
Two sides of the coin here. Hehe.

Both also not wrong. But depends on which side of the fence you are sitting.

For the sake of my family, I would prefer to be on the safe side. Or at least try to minimize as much risks as I reasonably can.

Note 5 and S6 edge for those that has stock.
*
I believe most people would opt to get a refund directly, or immediately exchange with an S7 edge.

After all, no point to have the loaner unit if you can get the refund / exchange on the spot, which Samsung must certainly buck up for and immediately arrange for.

Having a loaner unit will just waste our time even more by having more trips (petrol, time, parking, etc.) to the dealer or shop to collect, and then to return the loaner unit.
