Oh well.. once its official thru SME later... we have to say bye bye to our lovely N7..

Really sad mang. N7 is so darn wonderful. The camera, the screen, the capabilities.. N5 is just not up to par in my books.. hence was skipping it last year..

Really hoping samsung makes a special announcement that vietnam made n7 like us are problem free.. one can wish.. sad sad day for this recent news.

So much question repetition.. so much feedback and news sharing from 'concerned' non-owners.

Worthy points:

QUOTE
Along with a number of other analysts, Kim believes a key factor behind the Note 7 debacle was management’s insistence that it be launched ahead of schedule to secure a lengthy market lead over arch-rival Apple’s new iPhone.

QUOTE
”There was no channel for engineers to tell the management that they needed more time to test the battery and later prepare a new battery for the recall... and this lack of feedback was the biggest culprit behind this disaster,” Kim said.

Really pissed off on how Samsung mgmt handled this global note 7 disaster.. they couldve done better.. but 'family first'.. mad.gif

QUOTE
The steep glass curve makes the device the narrowest Note ever, even when compared to the first 5.3" one, and the narrowest phone with a 5.7" display, but it also might be precisely why the phone is combusting out of the blue. During the first recall, leaked docs from the Korean consumer protection agency showed that the battery packs made by Samsung's own SDI subsidiary were slightly larger for their compartment by a hair, and the isolation plates that separate the anode and cathode inside were too close towards the edges, hence prone to collapsing under pressure, short circuiting the battery, and causing thermal runaway. They also found issues with the packaging of the battery cells, like the insulating tape, which was done by a separate company, as well as the coating of the negative electrode.

I'm using s2,s3,note3,note 5,s7 edge,note7.....for me note 3 is the best ever model samsung ever launched.....the spec still can survive until nowadays....(basically leading competitor like 2 or 3 years time).

totally agree.. Was on Note 3 since 2013 and only now jumped to Note 7..still a capable phone.. lacking only in the camera dept imo.
