All depends on the game and who is the art director.

Final Fantasy XIV ARR had female warriors given body-hugging but still well-covered armors because the director wanted a balanced design sense to match its rather serious tone in story. There are many players who run around with just bikinis, but those are 'glamors' cast onto those thick armors by players' own choice of customization.

TERA however was marketed specifically for the male gamers, while also grabbing a few women who don't mind all that skimpy outfit anyway because they like that kind of design(believe it or not, there are women who WANT to feel sexy. that's why the sexy lingerie market exists in real world).

For me, it all comes down to preference and freedom to choose. If you like skimpy outfits, so what? If you prefer fully covered, lore-friendly, 'logical' armors, SO FUCKING WHAT? Games for both sides of the spectrum exist. There are also games that provide options both sexy and 'logical' equipment. What I hate is SJWs demanding censorship against games that want to be sexy because that was the design language they were going for. And these same SJWs then criticize women who want to cover up because of the demands of their religion, citing 'discrimination against women' and demanding that they fully obey the principal of 'total secularism' against their faith. Who's discrimination who now?
