Shopee looks like 11street, they have something similar to shocking deals, lowest price guarantee, but rarely have coupon. Hope both of these platforms offer low price to fight with each other, then benefits us. :-p
*
shopee no charging commission on seller product yet, if they start implemented it, also same fate like 11street now

for 'shocking xxx', whatever title, shopee refund 120% difference vs 11st 110%, yup, they had put 11street as target enemy

and one bad side of 11street now is they opening local platform for overseas seller in order to fight lazada taobao platform, but end up coming in some bad china seller selling fake things, recently got fake thumbdrive capacity in shocking deal that sold by china seller...no joke, if they no really serious about it to control seller quality, one day ppl would dump 11street away. on the other hand, lazada/alibaba only pre-select china reputable dealer to bring out to overseas market, this is the key point how they safeguard their platform and reputation.

11street doing charity work now, RM150 shopping cart coupon straight into account, minimum purchase RM 2,000
*
it is not charity, just desperate to counter on lazada.

for 2000 stuffs, mostly 11street can get 10% from seller RM200 commission charge, so why not just give u RM150, then nett to them is RM50. better than no sales.

about these new e-market platform , when they manage strike break-even point on cost (money burnt) and started to earn money really a big deal. Else learn from gemfive step on brake pedal fast enough to minimise blood loosing or like rakuten just quit this market.

p/s: to counter lazada china background, 11street also open for china sellers to sell to locals, but then no quality control on seller, although seeing some little stuff price really cheap enough just selling few ringgit only also can include free international shipping, it is wow initially but end up buyers know it is actually 3-4 weeks delivery time, not yet mentioning counterfeit products or no same as description bla bla. at least lazada one is pre-selected reputable china seller. Did one step wrong can ruin the platform reputation in one shot.

but all in all, malaysia still lose, money flock out to china seller directly, be it lzd/11st or any others. though gov manage to tax gst 6% through these platform imported stuffs (clear declaration by system), but at long term it hurt local retails and even factory, no shop no growth, no recruitment (all go work at KFC/MCD lah), no income tax growth > all focused on gst only

if want good quality: TTF

shops, hardware shops, sparepart shop use this local brand

china one (online selling one), one go feel the steel quality, touch it then only say sth (u can touch some at aeonbig & tesco, just rebranded name), then go TTF showroom see their demo rakc, don't quickly jump into conclusion cheap woh

hi, i didn't say they are cheap.

i know the bolt types are more rigid but the shinny steel (rounded frames) looks sleeker but i think the racks are held by just a fricition clamp (couldn't see inside)?

anyway i can't find them on lazada.
*
those tradisional square type are also bolt less now, use rubber hammer to slot in only.

different rack designed for different usage

poor design are split the vertical pillar steel into 2 pieces, this is really no secure. TTF one straight 1 piece tall up to 150cm also got. those giant/aeon/tesco one priced around rm100 need u to join back 2 pieces into 1 long piece to support height as mentioned, the rack simply swing just use bare hand to move it.

light weight usage - "shinny steel (rounded frames) looks sleeker but i think the racks are held by just a fricition clamp (couldn't see inside)", yes, hold up by plastic clamp in joints only. i got, i use it put up mono laser printer [not heavy laser printer 3in1 that bulky type], 3in1 inkjet printer (light weight), papers, docs on higher layer, still ok.

malaysia e-commerce scenario - going and going - finally no more true LOCAL PLAYER any more, ALL GET CONTROLLED BY "OVERSEAS FUNDS"

lazada > china alibaba
shopee > china tencent
11st > kr sk planet

smaller players no need mention much

lelong - still alive bcoz of long existance name couple with mudah, but got funding to become giant company? got funding to lure customers with discount coupon? nope everything ask money from seller from opening account till every transaction to keep survive. time is clocking...

after ecommerce platform, then the 2 giant china company would start fight for mobile epayment here with:

alibaba's alipay VS tencent's wechat pay

apart from platform, after allowing china product/service sellers steps in DIRECTLY through these platforms, there is no more tiny seller/reseller/distributor/dealer living space, no more middle man biz opportunity, no more middle man logistic biz as well. Only available to local SME which own self product to sell (ie the maker of product, not middle man) and only if their product still can compete with others, especially china made one. E.g the furniture sector can be affected badly. wat malaysia to export sell to china> white coffee, durian, bird‘s nest? good luck to locals.

quoting proton case, as the new venture take place, quoted car parts either to source from china part bcoz far cheaper cost or they said china parts company joint venture with local company to producing parts to bring down the cost, also some forms of "tight integration".

that y GemFive steps on brake pedal ASAP stop bleeding more

no chance any others go compete with china giant ecommerce entity, not even banking, telco backgrounds dare to keep watering out

bye bye also lelong in due time

finally would 4 corner fight, if:

Lazada (alibaba taobao alipay group)
11street (JD.com)
shopee (Tencent wechat group)

vs

Amazon (US)

good luck competing with few milliions of online seller in China.

but yeah, whoever sells the cheapest gets the sales, unless the product is defective or often arrive broken. when alibaba sets up it's warehouse here, we will see people importing fridges & toilet bowls here. not saying those things don't come from China but requires bulk import from distributors who then marks up the cost.

alibaba, the sellers might even be able to dodge duties & GSTs.
*
by news, this december 2017 the warehouse DFTZ at sepang should be starting to operate

11st now sign up some china sellers selling stuffs at few ringgit only but inclusive of international shipping fees, amazing right? even our poslaju for peninsular delivery rate already up to rm7.15 min for 500g. but yes there is a trick for such free international shipping as it took 3 to 4 weeks delivery, but after ppl click to buy means no local biz also.

would generally eat into every sector including furniture bulky sutffs, electrical home appliances as the warehouse would accomodate all bulky stuffs here.

although cars cannot buy from there, but we know we are getting china car @ proton soon, including their spare parts either source directly from china or china co. joint venture with locals spare part co. to bring down the cost as the new CEO name it.

just like a tree root start to penetrate deeper and deeper.

thus ecommerce platform start focused on inviting/bringing in heavy weight "manufacturer" and "brand owner" at recent months this can seen from their changing at webpage to counter china stuffs, in another word petty/middle man seller already out of main play field, don't wait till last minute.

also, local shopping mall also getting some changes such as Aeon renovate its eateries section enhancing better "shopping experience" more like in Japan to counter japan ecommerce attacks, doing pretty good.

nowadays only thing in malls only thing can survive is F&B because that you cannot simply buy online, yes got Foodpanda but choice limited also have to wait. but F&B is such a high risk business with high operating cost unless you open warung or stall.

most Malaysia vendors are just middleman, or distributors, we don't have much production or innovation, those so called New Ideas all actually come from China or West, so our cost would still be higher compared to China.

only way to succeed is selling branded goods, but with our high import tax & GST, we can't really make them affordable.

and even if you really invented good stuff, it only takes China factory 3 days to replicate your product and sell at a fraction of your cost. unless it involves high tech stuffs that cannot be copied. but they will come up with their own less superior but similar product.

in Europe, Taiwan & Japan local companies can still survive, because locals support local brands. in Malaysia, people feel ashamed when buying local stuffs, apart from wooden furnitures & Crude Oil i don't think we superior materials here.

in short, in another 2 years most Malaysians will bump into financial difficulties due to most SME closing down as we cannot compete directly against China companies as Government removed most restriction on Chinese traders.

the main reason is the heavy subsidies of China Shipping companies by the government allowing Chinese sellers to penetrate foreign market at lower cost than local sellers. This was not possible few years ago.

imagine shipping the whole container worth of stuffs from China warehouse to your doorstep. you don't even need to deal with customs. pretty much 80% stuff in your house can be brought in from China.

the 3-4 weeks waiting is ok as long as it's not urgent.
*
no wonder they can free international shipping, subsidized by gov, win liao

I read somewhere qoo10 is backed by eBay. If really eBay then also strong right?
*
i guess ebay was earliest foreign giant ecommerce set in foot print here while lelong growing that time - first generation of malaysia ecommerce

lelong, mudah, ebay (MY)

but what then, ppl buy from lelong/mudah, some might even forgot existence of ebay malaysia

now game changer are those afford to burn money giving out coupon lure buyer to buy from their platform - lazada, 11st, shopee

sounds like web .10, web 2.0, evolving

if a online platform still think it deserve just collect money from sellers then the time for ending also clocking, seller no longer want to pay money opening store at a platform and subsequently all transactions kena charged as well, that's lelong problem. ironically no china ecommerce giant wanna buy lelong, why ar?

seem like shopee dont have any discount
*
as them no charge seller yet, so no real income

and economy is no good compare few years back, they can't afford like what 11st started with keep free out coupon everyday, it quite hard to break-even in short time

if follow that way might gulung tikar like gemfive or like 11st now negotiating to sell it out to china giant ecommerce entity

discount coupon is a double blade knife

they may save bullet for coming 11.11

What can I do to check for updates and request for item to start delivering?
*
11st? their shipping tracking system use the aftership.com service and it occasionally down service

yesterday one i also check gdex, gdex own website tracking works, 11st punya aftership tracking down

so just copy the tracking code put into individual courier company website to do manual tracking
