i'm thinking the same too.. I bet, this mavic air will kill spark's sale..

Dji spark is one of their best selling drones cos of the price point. Spark is not going anywhere trust meh
Plus $799 for mavic air, I'd rather spend the same amount of money now for a mavic pro console.gif

Hi,

I never have and never fly a drone before, so please consider me a noob.

I'm going to china end of this month and i'm planning to buy Mavic Air in China. Hopefully it will be released to the store by the time i'm there.

My concern is, what is the drawback of buying drone from china and bring it back to malaysia?

After studying this thread i figured a fews but appreciate if you guys could enlighten me more and share if you have experience buying drone in China.

Among the cons;
1. All manuals will be in Chinese.
2. The apps in my phone will be in Chinese?
3. Cannot claim warranty in Malaysia.
4. I will be taxed at the airport? (unless if i throw the box away?)

Please share me some more details..

Are you talking about license to fly, or permission to fly.. License to fly only needed for 20kg drone or bigger. And permission to fly, basically, by law, the only legal place to fly your drone is in your own backyard. Some places are strictly no fly zone like nearby airport, putrajaya, klcc, palace etc. Other places, use your own wisdom.

There are tons of drone videos at Lake Titiwangsa.. Also, other places are any dams (semenyih dam, frasers hill's damn), bkt melawati, bukit fraser, bukit tinggi, bukit ampang, masjid shah alam, Genting highland, the new elevated rawang highway (nice view from above), Gunung Nuang, Morib, Stadium Bukit Jalil, etc.

I dont go to all those places. It just that there a lots of drone videos taken at that location..

This is a semenyih dam. Very beautiful location..
