ff5 & ff6 <--- both are not in the poll list.

FF7 LA STILL NEED SAY...ZZZ

FF6 has the best story, but FF6 was the deepest most plot-twisting, most engaging MoFo FF out there..so guess it goes to FF6 with stories.

Gameplay wise, IMHO is FF8 since FF8 battle system is the most interesting to me. FF7 battle system is really almost classical..but FF8 story sux ass!

I started with FF8, completes it and continues with FF7. FF7 is definitely the best comparing between 8, 9, and X with the Materia system and the weapon slots. FF7 characters are also well polished. There have their own backgrounds! The daring tour guide Tifa, the blur-blur Cloud who thinks he is Zack, the ever-sacrificing Aeris, the loud Barret, Vincent, and who else??

FF8 does have its fair share of plot-twisting too thats because all of Rinoa's plans are ill conceived.

Are we still talking about the gameplay? Because that's what's clearly stated in the topic.
I cannot agree with FF8 having the best gameplay. Seriously... drawing your magic?? I got bored almost immediately.

FFX 10 i love the game play and the story which other ff dont have like the map ffx show which way you go any tell you how to move on the another step while other ff didn't show which you nid to pass on your self damm i admit ff 7 story do really grade but -.-" after in the middle of the game i found i can't play the game du lan dont want play lioa.

Gameplay?
For me, its Final Fantasy 7 since you can do many customization to the characters due to the materia and the equipments. (materia slots)

I've won the ff7, the others still stuck have ways. ff12 not yet started. So i opt for ff7...nice storyline, esp the part where aries R.I.P....

finished ff8 , havent tried ff7 , totally hate ff9

conclusion ? ff8 for dood who lives under a rock

What's the point of a linear RPG? It's more like an action game than an RPG.

Maybe it's because I played MMORPG's too much , so only biasa with real time battles

Gotta love the gambit system
But storyline seems to be a little too short....

Moved to Console Couch since this is for the most part, a console franchise

One word. Tactics.

Jobs, hidden char, chocobos, guns / bows / blades (and more), summons, magics, Orlandu (Cid), long storyline - the ONLY game out of PS that I'm still so addicted with.

The others are fine, but IMO none can replace Tactics.

i start playing ff 8... ff 7 don't noe how it looks like.. but ff8 is very nice for me.. play it 3 times ...
