if it is replacing the PS3... then maybe our neighbour will produce 15" size also...
just really hopefully either PS3 or PS4 will be available during my next change within 1~2 months time...

Driving a Pug 208 which stock tyres are Michelin XM2 195/55r16. Found out that Michelin Malaysia doesn't stock my tyre after bursting it trying to avoid a rock... so now looking for alternatives. Dealer suggested 205/55r16 but it doesn't fit into the spare wheel well in the boot. Any suggestions for other tyre brands?

Something more confusing :

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/Miche...ess-Release.htm

From the article, there won't be successor for PSS soon and most likely shall be succeeded by pilot sport cup 2.

It says this new PS4S is the replacement for the PSS, just that they are now making the name more uniform hence they drop the Super Sport name.

Going by their RRP of my require size, i have to fork out Rm2920 for 4 new shoes. sweat.gif sweat.gif
That does not include B&A.
What are the market price, I'm thinking around minus 20% of the RRP.

Yeah at the moment about 15-20% off the RRP. My friend just bought a set for his car, size 225/40/18 for about rm800-850 per tire (the RRP is rm985).

if you are at the stage where you NEED to change tyres, definitely you have to go with what's available in the market for your desired size. unless you can wait and see if manufacturer decides to make for your size. e.g. for me on 16", GY didn't make the Assym2 in my size, only for 17" and above and again for Assym3, and I do not want to change my rims.

for 15", I guess you could either stick to PS3, or go for RE003, Fleva V701, V12 Evo2, etc...

Most likely no 15" for ps4. Imo they will still keep the ps3 for the mid level mass market as for ps4 the pricing is between ps3 and pss. Slightly pricier than ps3. Btw they are replacing the pss with the new PS 4 S

I don't think it is restricted to the PS3. It can happen to any tyres too. I presume these are the front 2 tyres. Do the rear tyres show this as well?

I wonder how you drive your car until the tyres show this kind of pattern. My presumption is only the outer part of the tyre will show cracks or peeling when the car is subjected to hard cornering. But your tyres show cracks or peeling on the middle and inner side too. In other words, the pattern is uniform across the section of the tyre - the outer, middle and inner sides.

My tyres only show cracks or peeling at the outer side of the front two tyres with cornering at high speed. Little damage on the middle with no damage to the inner side.

The front tyres (heavy damage) :

All 4 tires having the same issue. Not just me but I had 2 other frens using PS3 facing the same issue.

What I know is I don't have this issue on potenza. I enjoy both tyres very much. I love the PS3 in wet the most. To my surprise my wife can feels the charateristic difference when I switch between a PS3 and potenza on her car.

That is weird if the peeling of the tyres is with 4 tyres front and back. If that is the case, the peeling is likely not due to cornering at high speed then but something else.

If that's the case I presume you must be doing quite a bit of drifting with your car. I thought I was already quite brutal or harsh with my high speed cornering that caused the damage to the front two tyres.

Yes, sounds very promising and definitely on my target list to consider for next time. But this review was just braking and slalom only, not yet full lap time attack, plus only against 1 tire (RE003). Later when it goes more comparisons with others like F1A3, CSC6, etc2., then it should reveal more if it's really the best.

Can consider this.  drool.gif
But warranty wise...

ya..warranty wise is a problem.but michelin seldom have problem because of its quality.
furthermore, most tyre shop especially michelin centre can claim the tyre if have issue, but the problem is they lazy to do it because no money earn.this is what i heard from tyre shop.

Using PS3 for my ride now. There are no sizes for 15" 195/50 or 195/55?

How about 205/40/17 for my other ride?

You mean PS4 only slightly better than MC5??? Have you really pushed the tires hard, or just drive normal2 only like most people?? If just drive normal2 only then of course would not feel much difference. smile.gif

Because PS4 is a high performance tire whereby the difference with mid level MC5 is mainly in the performance level. So in order to analyse if the PS4 really delivers its supposedly higher performance level, then you can only know that if you push the tires harder or else the difference will not by much noticeable. Or later if you got into an emergency situation (knock wood won't happen ya) then you'd notice the difference. Probably just noise, comfort level, and later durability are the criteria that you can compare if just normal drive but that's not the main aspect of a tire like PS4. That's why when reputable journalists provide reviews on such tires, they push to the limits with measurements and therefore can then see the real difference.

the extra you've paid only shows during extreme conditions, for eg heavy rain cruising or high speed emergency braking in wet, that's where you'll see the differences.

i've learned to appreciate good tire engineering and technologies during a long trip which it was pouring really heavily, my car feels really planted eventhough i'm travelling at a relatively higher speed compared to other cars on the road, there are a few cars fishtailed in corner, some aquaplaned. even my mom who knows nothing about cars was impressed

if you pot around town at 40-60kmh in dry, most tires will sound/feel the same, you might as well go for comfort based GT tires instead of UHP ones biggrin.gif

quite agree with u..normal driving only,if u use goodyear excellence, achiles 2233,rovelo etc might feel not much difference with expensive uhp tyres.

As suspected, still non conclusive evidence so we take it as just your bad luck, nothing to do with the tires.
He actually said he has been suing the PS series since the first version and contrary to you, NEVER get punctured. biggrin.gif I've also used Michelin;s PS series before and did not get punctured often or even once if I recall.

Yes, the only reason to get PS3 if you need 15' or the PS3 is much cheaper, otherwise get PS4.

When I asking for PS4, this shop keep promote the PS3.

Than the price is not much different. (initial try to scam me with given me PS4 high price)

I told him, I m currently using PS3. What the heck changing another PS3. Unless you can give me the PS3 very cheap.

Probably try to get rid the PS3 remaining stock.

it's alot grippier than the F1D5 i'm replacing it, there's this rather high speed corner that i'm very familiar with, suffice to say that i took it at 20kmh faster than my previous record without any drama before i myself kecut tongue.gif
then again i'm not expecting any less as the price range is not the same (360vs500)

steering feedback is sharper at factory recommended tire pressure, and it rides alot more comfortable over the imperfections on the road
noise wise, it's pretty alright as it's still very new (<500km)
wet duno, no rain at all lately tongue.gif

Steering feedback is sharper? Then should be better than PS3 liao. PS3 very lazy feeling, it tends to understeer slightly.

i've not used ps3 before, the comparison was solely made between the f1d5 and ps4

i'm blessed (?) to still drive a car with hydraulic power steering, d5 definitely feels heavier and more muted on road feedbacks, whilst the new tires feels more precise and chatty, transmitting more road feel, and respond better to minuscule adjustment on mid corners

FC seemed to be improving as well, i'm getting about 1km/litre more so far tongue.gif

Nice, no surprise at all that the PS4 will be much better than the aging and much cheaper F1D5. Even the new F1A3 is also beaten by PS4 in the latest Auto Express UK tire test last year. It seems to be the new benchmark now for UHP/Max category tires, replacing the PSS and CSC5 at the top (not sure if compared with the new CSC6 but CSC6 is very limited to huge 19' above only, so not relevant for me). So if got budget, no doubt this is the tire of choice!

It surely should be better than PS3. PS3 is about similar with the aging F1D5 and F1A2 and below CSC5, but now PS4 beats them all! PS4 is meant to replace the highly regarded PSS anyway but also trying to keep the excellent aquaplaning resistance from PS3, so it's like a marriage between the PSS & PS3 in 1 tire.

Michelin PS4 have run flat technology ?

I dont know but i managed to survive a HUGE NAIL poked inside of my middle Tyre tread after travel more than 50km. Its quite deep and huge hole

First it happened near my house and at night the shop is closed. So decided to go straight to the tyre shop next morning. The PSI was decreasing over night but not much ... From 32 to around 27-28 according to my tpms

i was rushing and drive normally around 90km/h to the tyre shop. When i reached the shop, the nail came out itself while on the road i assumed. The staff just help me repair it and say no problem.

Previously my continetal Contimax and bridgestone HT tyre on my another car will go flat after few minutes when encounter the same punctured middle area. As for side is consider the end of the world in my experience though

So far these few weeks monitored by TPMS... like normal as usual.
In terms of safety . Thumbs up as well

Previous Tyres include Nexen N8000, Champiro HPY, Goodyear Assymetric 2 and Michelin PS3.

Current car: Turbo diesel, rwd pushing 198ps on wheel with 440Nm of torque

Driving style: Daily basis mostly city driving being stuck in traffic. Friday nights mostly up to Goh Tong via Karak highway for yam cha. Weekends usually Ulu Yam, Kuala Kelawang, Bukit Putus, and a few other routes

Normally I push the car quite hard. So far, Nexen N8000 and Champiro HPY in the wet is quite slippery, easily up Ulu Yam can initiate an oversteer even with traction control on due to losing grip. On the Michelin PS3 and PS4 it is definitely tougher to initiate the oversteer. With the cheaper tyres, traction control lights and warning comes up a lot more up Ulu Yam even when pushing about 60-70% compared to dry (percentage is based on speeds at certain areas only). Michelin requires me to push harder before I see the traction control lights appear.

Not really a proper test setup as when I go to track I use totally separate tyres so can't compare track times with these road tyres.

Ic, that means your review is quite representative, very good then! thumbsup.gif
So, can I take that based on your experience so far, the ps4 is the best street tire you have driven?

Does anyone feel the PS4 is less confort compared to PS3? I felt my car is bumpier than before (especially on highways) after changed to PS4.
At first I thought the tyre pressure was high, managed to lowered to 33 psi for front and 32 psi for rear and it got better, but still can feel it is lil bit bumpier than PS3 tough. My tire size is 235/40/R18.

On my car yes, the PS4 is the best tyres I have used.

But in terms of best that I have driven, personally I loved the Michelin PSS. Used it on both the Porsche Cayman R and BMW M2. Its like the slightly extreme edition of the PS4 and I wasn't surprised that the replacement for the PSS is indeed the PS4S.

PS4 is designed to to blend between Michelin's bench mark max performance PSS and the all rounder UHP PS3, so no surprise if it's less comfortable.

PSS is excellent in the dry but reviews mentioned a bit weaker in the wet, so more focus towards dry performance while PS3 is the opposite, more towards wet than dry. PS4 is supposed to achieve better balance in both areas, achieving the same or even better wet performance than PS3 while very close to matching the same dry performance as PSS. Do you think so since you've tried all 3 of them? Nice cars you have there btw.

The cars belonged to my boss who asked me to drive him to join his group of driving friends through the b roads of Perak a couple of times. Yes, you are right on that. The PSS is definitely aimed for the dry and feels super sticky. Of course can't compare it with the likes of the lower threadwear type sticky tyres like the Toyo R1R (my current track tyres), the Yokohama AD08R and even the Federal RSR.

Personally haven't had the chance to try PS3 out on my car, as PS4 launches out to the market blink.gif
But from what I understand PS4 is the direct successor of PS2, not PS3.
PS3 is more of PS2 + Primacy, it has the partial grip + the comfort, whereas PS4 is more gripper & less comfort compare to PS3

Not much of a different actually, not all sizes are produced in Thailand, so they have to import from somewhere.

255/40/18 is imported from France.
PS4 from Hungary, the sidewall is a bit less velvet compare to Thailand.

TQ for the heads-up icon_rolleyes.gif I've reopened the thread, but not sure will anyone PM there as the price is there, I've no way to keep track of Quotation sent to each member.

That's one of the reasons why I do not want to post price publicly if possible. rclxms.gif

I see this this thread is becoming more like a sale thread than discussion on tyres. You may take the PM to offline (i.e need not post to tell the entire community that PM is replied).

For those who interested to get quotation from the seller, you could PM directly and I am sure he is more than willing to check his Inbox frequently to answer your question (i.e need not post a separate reply to this thread).

For price, it is posted in garage sale in the link provided earlier. Refer to Post #209 😀

Helping this thread to become tidier and more informative. 😄

Just got my 4pcs of PS4 205/50R16 for my Ford Fiesta from [A]aronLJW, it was nice to chat with you Aaron thumbsup.gif .

Compared to my previous stock tire Conti CPC2, my initial impression on PS4 is that it have more road feedback, and slightly quieter in terms of noise. Will let the PS4 run-in for some time before I made my judgement on how well this PS4 perform.

Link to price on post #209 at previois page. Help yourself and check the price by clicking the link there.. Do continue with discussion of tyres as this is not a sale thread. Thank you.

Hi,
Currently I'm driving forte 2.0 with 215/45/r17 Michelin PS3 which I changed in March 2015.
Due to one of the rear tyre hit on a divider, it causes some tear on the side of my right rear tyre.
Based on the tyre shop checking, they recommend to change both the rear tyre while front tyre are still good to go.

Need some suggestion from sifu here. Should I just change all 4 of them or stick to rear tyre replacement only?

1. Look for 2nd hand 215/45/17 PS3 to replace your right rear tyre if your left rear tyre is still usable.
2. Replace both rear tyres if your left rear tyre is unable to be reused, another brand tyre is okay also as long as the rear using the same pattern.
3. If got extra budget, change all 4 pcs to Michelin PS4 or your preference tyres, sell your remaining tyres to your friends, car club member or strangers thumbsup.gif

Plan to change only both the rear tyre to PS4 while maintaining the other 2 front PS3 (will swap front to rear when I get the new tyre).
The other non tear rear tyre will be used as a spare since my spare tyre already 6 yrs old.

The question is... is it recommended to only change 2 pair of tyre instead of 4?
Thanks for any recommendation.

Yes, no problem on changing 2 pairs only instead of 4. If some shop they might potong you say must change all 4, but I'll recommend change only 2 if your budget is limited or even you have xtra oso change 2 since don't waste the front 2.

2 tire change can be done if the tire has similar grip level,Since you are using the same brand, and almost the same tire, it is alright i guess..

just put the stickier tire behind, then change the front tires after they're done.

Just changed 2 PS4 tyre to the front and old PS3 on the rear..
Price a bit expensive in Penang which is RM470/tyre inclusive balancing and allignment.
While at the shop, one of the dealer is around and mentioned that tyre price going to increase 7% in April.

Anyone know about this? Thanks.

PS4 is a Ultra high-performance tyres
Comfort suits me well (depend on your tire pressure also)
Noise level (can be noisy on rough roads, I'm able to tolerate with music vol louder a bit)
Rolling Resistance (good for a UHP tires, able to clock 600km with 1 full tank 35l fuel)

I'm on PS4s (225/45/17) for about 2 months now.

Very quiet compared to Goodyear and Falkens and the grip is quite phenomenal. Going hard into corners I could never make them squeek and in the rain they're superb. Happy with my PS4 and being made in Thailand (mai pen rrai) the price was cheaper than Conti's CS6. Michelin compounds feel softer than other brands. Just got them rotated at Lim Tayar

Pros: wet performance, braking, price and low noise

Cons: None I can think of. Maybe 20kms later I tell you the wear rate

** Corrected 225/45/17. Typed too fast **

You mean CSC6? CSC6 is only available from 19' above, not 17'. For 17', can opt for CSC5 which is also very closely matching this new PS4 but yeah probably still higher price also coz still made in European countries.

Btw your tire size is 225/50/17 is it? How much did you pay for it?

So sorry my bad. 225/45/17 and I paid RM650 / tire at Lim Tayar, along the MRR2 opposite Flamingo Hotel

The Conti's in the same spec were listed on their catalogue for RM850+ or thereabouts. You're right, CS5s, not the CS6

Hmm seems too expensive. My friend just bought 18' PS4 size 225/45/18 cheaper than your 17'! But she bought from Klang area. CSC5 at that price is also over priced, so next time maybe you should avoid that place. Also many much more competitive sellers in this forum already can sell much cheaper than that I think. smile.gif

Michelin Pilot Sports 4 225/45R17 for RM650 each?? Ouch... I suppose Lim Tayar caters to different market altogether...

How does the PS4 compares to PS3 when it comes to handling & side wall stiffness? I know the PS3 is generally softer than other UHP tires. I'm changing my current set of PS3 in another 3 months, looking for something more firm for better handling.

Read this review of PS4 vs the others. It should be much better than PS3.

fleva on the other hand is way cheaper, and also better than 003 tho.

ps4 so far can get 410 each for 215/45/17 . possible to get 225 for RM500 below? cry.gif

I used ps3 before and now on ps4. Ps4 win all the aspects. If you looking for better handling, ps4 is better than ps3. You can noticed straight away. By the way, my tyre size is 205/50/R17.

Notic to all:

Last year, I changed 2 new PS3 at one of the top tire shops in Klang. After test drive by the technician, I was told that it swerved to one side. I was told about some problems at bottom front. It would cost RM800 plus to fix it. I said see how it goes in few days.

As I was driving back to PJ, it was swerving to left on highway. I found the new tire was flat next morning. I took my car to my neighborhood shop to fix it. Found out that the Klang shop technician didn't place a rubber ring on the new metal valve. Swerving was due to low air pressure in new tire.

Just sharing.

Hmm lowered i think you need to seek for alternative 205/45/16 and also depend on your rim spec as well.

please Do not bother to get PS3 unless they are on discount like half of the original price and i doubt their performance on the road in the future because Ps3 is consider discontinued ever since ps4 announce

So beware of old batches. Since tires do get expire . If i am not wrong tires expire 6 years and older batch of them usually expire more faster. They degrade over time easily

As of now PS4 is not available in 15' so the 15' PS3 might still continue to fill in this gap. Unless later Michelin introduces another new model to replace in the 15' sizes, just like Continental making the new CPC6 to replace CSC5 for tires smaller than 19' (below CSC6).

I changed PS3 to PS4 also feels weird. Tyre grip seemed much worse off than ps3. I run the tyre for 200km but still slippery. Once the tyre 'seasoned' it is much better. I never encountered tyre so slippery when new, not even on ps3 previously.

I just switched to PS4 from MC5. Grip is somewhat underperforming, but I've just had 100km's on it. Will continue to monitor. My other rude is fitted with RE003 and they had immediate grip from the very go.

my review after i drove around 500km at Plus highway. From G9 Accord 235/45R18 PS3 to PS4...one very noticeable advantage found compared with PS3...The harsh braking on PS4 tyre is very firm, noise wise not much different from feeling- dont have db equipment to test tongue.gif, didn't have chance to test during rain but i heard for sure PS4 perform better than PS3

I've never driven on a set of CSC3s so can't comment. I've had the PS4s for almost 2 months now and my initial observations are still true. On the dry side, the grip simply is not as assuring as RE003s. On the wet side so far, they are quite identical in grip.

I'm looking for Michellin PS4 , location Taiping / Parit Buntar or Penang.

Any shop recommended for good price?

Looking for 215/45R17 for my Ford Focus.

Additional Question: Must I insist for make year 2017? If the shop offered 2016 instead what should I do? Just take it or ask for discount etc?

Wow.. the difference of prices between 225 vs 215 is quite huge...

Are there any significant bonuses for going 225 instead of 215?

I'm also driving Ford Focus 2.0S MK2,year 2005.
I upgraded from 205/55/R16 to 215/45/R17, but, the correct size should be 225/45/R17.

Refer to link below for upgrading tyre sizes.

https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=205...wcl=30mm&sr=0mm

225 should have better grip and handling since it's wider tyre.

Encountered territorial heavy rain on Jalan Mahameru heading towards Jalan Damansara this evening. The PS4 size 205/55/16 in my car is about 1000 kms. My verdict that this tyre does not cut the water as well as my previous PS3. Can feel more evidence of aquaplaning compared to PS3 resulting in the need to hold the steering more firmly.

The PS4 for this size is sold with 'extra load' marking, I believe it is the same as other sizes which also made in Thailand. It means that the sidewall is much firmer and the tyre is bumpy. Yes, it is much firmer compared to PS3 of the same size.

The tyre also sounds squeaky (not to be confused with screeching sound) when turning round and round in a car park with smooth cement. Previously using PS3, no matter how hard I turn (within the speed limit in the car park) there is hardly any sound . To counter this, I have to pump the pressure higher which resulted in even more bumpy ride. PS4 likes to be on higher pressure in order to utilise its capability.

Sad to say that PS4 also has a very small rim protector compared to PS3. The rim protector in PS3 is very obvious and bulging out to protect the side of the rim against accidental kissing side kerb compared to PS4. Personally, I still prefer old PS3 compared to PS4 as it is all rounder for daily city drive and occasional spirited driving where esle PS4 seemed to be more happy in 'touge' driving situation.

Well PS3 has been well known to have the best aquaplaning resistance and not surprising since it has big tread cuts for water dispersion but at the expense of not as sporty behavior in the dry (but still pretty good). Those who had used PS2 or the older PS Precedia series complained a bit about this less sporty dry behavior of the PS3. Therefore now Michelin is trying to rectify that and bring more sporty characteristic to the new PS4 and try to make it closer to the highly regarded PSS. So not surprising also that the PS4 should be harsher with more dry grip but maybe at a slight drop in aquaplaning resistance.

I like it but it is too early to comment

noise a bit lower than re003, maybe because its new.

grip I can say good compared to re003. again, maybe because its new.

have to wait around 3000km.

Got some pictures for comparison of rim protector between PS4 and PS3. Although it may not be very apparent in the pictures but in if you compare the actual tyres, you will feel straightaway.

PS4 less visible rim protector
PS3 more protruding / aggressive rim protector

Recently, the time had come to change my PS3 as they had worn down to about the tread wear indicator. Got around 55,000KM on the set. Perhaps could have got a few more '000 KM out of them, but I drive long distance weekly and realize there are better ways to stretch my money. Anyway, my replacement set is the PS4 and I've since driven around 1000KM on them. Mileage is mostly on NSE highway and I auto cruise at around 130KMH. Initially after replacement, I felt there was slightly more grip around corners and better control. However, fuel consumption reading dropped around 5% from the 12.5KM/L I was seeing before the change. Recently, the reading is back to same as before. So my theory is that the tyre performs differently when being broken in (and opinions of new tyres which are written after brief tests should be read with much skepticism). Cabin noise is slightly less, but could be due to this being a new set of tyres. My old PS3 performed well in the dry and wet, and am expecting the same with the PS4 - will update this review in the future if I find it is not the case. I drive fairly aggressively with my 2.5L Camry and would not hesitate to recommend the PS4 tyres to anyone with a similar driving style.

So far using 2 pieces PS4 at rear tire as the front one still on old PS3 (20% thread).

Can't really feel the diff. I reckon they both on par in term of performance. However still impress on old PS3, still can take corner at high speed. Can't wait to change the front tire to PS4.

In term of look, PS4 side wall much better. Clearer & cleaner embossed 'Michelin' logo.

Looks like new competition is in town : Continental MaxContact 6

The product positioning is a direct rival to the pilot sport 4. Will definitely be cheaper when compared with same sizes since it is produced locally.

The sound characteristics will be different despite same "loudness", so presumably should at least be a little better than MC5.

PS4 also sama sama loud category from the EU tyre label ratings....

Wonder how it is positioned with regards to CPC6 coz now both are now claimed to compete with PS4. My hunch is CPC6 will still be a bit higher performance than MC6 but not sure. Need to see the tread wear rating of the MC6.

MC6 should be considered asia pacific "localised" version of CPC6 to cater for our rougher roads. CPC6 technically should have better performance, but who knows hmm.gif ....

Seems big hole and part of the rubber ripped off and the thread is visible.

Where was that?

I was quoted 539+6% for 205/50/R17 at Tan Chong service centre.

advisable go for 215/45 easier to find tyre.205/50 quite rare in market also.plus it is expensive.
215/45/17 rm390 in another thread, some members they have update price.

Which mix reviews, can share?
Alternatives are Continental CSC5, Goodyear F1A3, Pirelli P Zero, or Hankook S1 Evo 2 if you want cheaper one.

Thanks for your recommendation.. I just based from user experience and some of them from this thread... you can correct me if I’m wrong, comparison to ps3

- road noise louder
- fuel consumption increase
- wet grip in ps3 better
- felt harsh on the road
- less rims protection

- road noise louder: the noise rating published for PS4 is actually slightly lower than PS3.
- fuel consumption increase: this is possible since PS4 gives more grip & performance. PS4 is meant to combine between PS3 & PSS. When Michelin came out with PS3, many who had been used to PS2 were a bit disappointed coz they feel PS3 dropped a bit and had gone too soft. So with PS4, Michelin goes back to be a bit more aggressive/sporty tire. More grip usually means less FC.
- wet grip in ps3 better: PS3 has been very good at aquaplaning resistance but sacrifices a bit its dry grip (hence the complains of previous PS2 users of PS3 ultimate dry performance). PS4 tries to improve the dry grip and therefore might marginally loose a bit of the aquaplaning resistance but wet performance is not about aquaplaning but also grip on wet surface when there's no puddles and this should be at least as a good as PS3 too if not better.
- felt harsh on the road: this is possible since PS4 gives more grip & performance, with stiffer sidewall.
- less rims protection: this one not sure, maybe.

As for reference you should read more professional reviews from reputable magazines that compares tires with proper drivers and proper equipment with the same car in similar conditions. FYI during PS3 times, Autoexpress UK had compared it with many other top UHP tires like CSC5, P Zero, F1A2, etc2. and PS3 ended up behind CSC5. Then after PS4 arrived, again Autoexpress UK did the same test between PS4 vs those other tires but this time PS4 came out on top beating CSC5. So using the same SCSC5 as a reference point, I'd think that means PS4 overall is surely also better than PS3.

Recently just changed to PS4, and I do agreed that this tyre has lesser rim protection compared to my stock tyre.
So far I am impressed with the performance of this PS4 tyre.

PS3 also did not have much rim protector, so not surprised if PS4 follows the same. If you want thick rim protector, then try Goodyear F1A2/3.

215/50 and 225/45 jumps higher than 215/45 which is almost rm 100 difference compare to 215/45.approximately rm 480-490+
if your car can fit 215/45 then it would be more worth.haha

Is it worth it? If what you mean by worth it or not is that you're looking for best value for money, then I may suggest to check out Hankook V12 Evo2. My wife's car is currently using this tire and I'm absolutely happy with them! It will not be as good as the PS4 BUT at least it is the same level of true UHP tire (got some other tires claiming to be UHP class but actually NOT!), performs almost as good, and at a much cheaper price. For your size, you can get one at below rm300/pc like example below:
https://www.mudah.my/Tyre+tayar+205+55+16+h...o2-58846012.htm

HOWEVER, if you have the budget for PS4 then why not?? I certainly would! Coz arguably it is the best UHP tire on the market now, and fortunately for you it's also still available in smaller 16' sizes (many other top UHP tires like GY F1A3, CSC5/6, P Zero PZ4 are only available in 17' upwards). So if you do want to enjoy the best, then by all means go for it while still can! (Coz the trend of high performance tires seems to be bigger and bigger sizes, so in the future you might not have a chance anymore to try for such excellent tire at smaller sizes). Price for your size should be around rm350/pc like below example:
https://www.mudah.my/Tayar+Baru+Michelin+PS...16-58109499.htm

Just to help you further to decide, below is the latest review involving these tires compared together with 3 other top level tires. The PS4S (the higher version of PS4), won the comparison test but the V12E2 was not too bad either, even able to beat the more highly regarded GY F1A3! Note also PS4 is like half a step below the PS4S tested there, so you can kinda gauge that the gap between PS4 and the V12E2 won't be as much as in this test.

That's pretty good price already for your size. Yes can get cheaper but might not be convenient to really look for the ultimate cheapest one especially if you're outside of Klang Valley, so as long as it's reasonably competitive price already then that's good enough IMHO.

Cheaper by rm200 if visit Kota Kemuning, but distance and jams, not worth the extra, Puchong around RM1500+ too..

Yes that's what Continental global says about the CPC6, upgraded to UHP class to compete directly with PS4. This MC6 on the other hand is only from Malaysia market which also claims to compete with PS4, so I'm still skeptical where it sits actually.

Wah then no good leh like that, it's like bait ads only! Thay have been advertising a lot of V12E2. Did you show them the mudah ads that they posted? if I want to buy things from mudah, I always whatspapp them first to ask if stock available by using the ads photo so they should not give excuse to hike price but of course if they say no more stock then that's it, no deal done.

Hi All Taikor here,
Currently I am driving a City with tyre size 175/65/15 if I am not mistaken. I did not check if there is a thread on this already, thinking of changing to Michelin but was recommended XM2.
Was wondering PS3 of 185/60/15 can be suitable for City? Any brother try before? Thank you for any 2 cents here.

PS3 doesn't have size 185/60/15. For Honda City you can use 195/55/15 which is available for PS3. XM2 is not worth it for this small size coz the difference in price is minimal but XM2 is in a lower class so the performance is noticeably lesser.

Oh, no wonder. But I remember I did told the 4th shop seller that I'm looking for 195/55/R15 inches model only, but he still insists that PS3 is not available anymore, and he said PS4 also have 15 inches now. doh.gif Or maybe he has the latest stock, I'm not sure haha.

My car is Altis, sum up i think around the price

Quick save price = RM390 per tyre includes, total = 1560

Klang = 350 per tyre, 1400, alignment = 250 = 1650

Alignment for Altis I don't think so premium priced, RM250 is really too much unless you driving Porsche. Usually ranging less than RM70.

Should be around low rm800 with GST for the best prices in Klang Valley area, like in this example, but outside should be more expensive I guess.

Yes, this and the V12 Evo 2 are the best value for money now, that's why I always recommend them nowadays if got size matching.
Btw where do you bought them?

For Malaysia maybe have to rely on independent shop importer to get smaller sizes coz Malaysia tire distributors seem reluctant to bring in complete choices, especially expensive tires like this. Malaysian market seems more towards the cheaper choices. That's why for example the PSS also not available in Malaysia for 17' but available in SG. Then there's the case of Continental CPC5 & 6, not offered by Continental Malaysia which instead substitutes with MC5 & 6.

Getting 2 PS4: 205/55/ZR16 @ RM330 per piece inclusive of GST and Balancing at Kota Kemuning.

Year of tyre is towards end of 2017 (3817 & 4517)

Updates: Drove to work this morning, not bad, nice dry grip and smooth drive. Not noisy at all. The installer put in 34psi tyre pressure for me. My old tyres are Michelin XM2. I only changed the front tyres to PS4 as I bought a pair of XM2 last month for my rear.

I got it from Sumec Tyre. The big tyre shop next to Aeon Big and Puchong Yong Tau Fu in Bukit Rimau.

The shop sign is actually red color LASSA Tyre.

Call to check on availability.

Correct, the price is RM298 per piece + RM15 (Installation and Balancing) + RM18.8 (GST) = RM331.8 per piece.

I got it last weekend (Sunday). Advise to call for stock availability as their stocks run out very fast.

Oh, the price has increased? I went there as I saw their post on FB and the price clearly stated as RM298 per piece. Maybe they were having promotion at that time.

Try another tyre shop on Sri Muda side, one of our forumer also works/own that shop:

U can contact Seng HP: 0126178697.

15 jalan g / 25g bukit kemuning batu 8 40400 Shah Alam
Gps 3.0168841N 101.5293065E

Oh, the price has increased? I went there as I saw their post on FB and the price clearly stated as RM298 per piece. Maybe they were having promotion at that time.

Try another tyre shop on Sri Muda side, one of our forumer also works/own that shop:

U can contact Seng HP: 0126178697.

15 jalan g / 25g bukit kemuning batu 8 40400 Shah Alam
Gps 3.0168841N 101.5293065E

Hope this helps.

what do u mean by bad installation?the installation procedure is standard and couldn't gone bad.balancing i believe so because sometimes the machine is scheduled late for calibration.i apologise for that.balancing is always done to 0 value/balance before proceed to installation.
since u know u come from far, advice u confirm price and stock before u go.many of my customers did that.at least my team manage to get the tyre u want for u even they have no stock at the moment..stocks are selling fast.so u can't expect 24hour have stock if u didn't come directy after u ask.

Just changed my 2 sets (rear) to PS4, purchased it for a 495.00 per/pc in Kuching dealer.
Guys, how much mileage needed to run/break-in the new tyre?

Comparing PS4 and 3st which is quieter....?
I know ps4 is performance hence would not be quieter, who knows since PS4 is newer 4 years than 3st. Anyone did a comparison?

I think the more grip the tyres is, the more noise its producing...so comparing both pilot sports line is abit hard, i guess...

From Weng Heng Kota kemuning ? price include alignment?

Btw, my dad just got CHOP by Tayaria

4 pcs 205/55/16 including alignment rm1740 blink.gif shakehead.gif

The reason he change so rush because car lost control while going up genting. Usually he will ask me first...

Anyone who want to chg in future please take this as reference, Tayaria will try to push you take Pirelli because they're the disti of the brand.

Front PS3, Rear Pirelli P1

Still got abit of depth to the tread wear indicator, he was going uphill in raining daytime but not driving fast.

Luckily managed to get back control without hitting anything, trying to retrieve footage from dashcam but file didnt lock.
