tried to apply the VS again but was told that since I had it before and cancelled, the AF will no longer be waived for the first year.

Is that true?

mine was cancelled about a year ago, so went to the card center in midvalley to apply for the VS and Barcelona VS, the guy there told me that the first year waiver for the VS is only for new to VS customers only.

hearing that, I didn't follow through with the application for VS.

the guy at the card center at Gardens says 2 years to ensure that u don't get charged the AF.

i tried to apply it again 6 months after i've cancelled a couple of years ago to avoid the AF, but the guy said if you apply now, the AF will still be charged on the first statement.

PS: the 2 years came from another agent from the same card centre which says Maybank actually clears their database for inactive customers that exceed 2 years, so AF will not be charged if you've cancelled for more than 2 years and will be treated as a new customer.

Hopefully it’s these only, maxis, time fibre and astro forms the bulk of my bills
