terminated cards, cannot accept debit transaction. so, your SI will fail. be mindful should there be processing fee if SI fail charging.

usually they only cancel cards if all outstanding (including installments from mbb) have been transferred into the card account for final billing.

from what cs told me, after sst is charged, still can reversed out during cancellation, assuming no card usage at all.

been called few time and all CS told the same that charged SST can be waived only if card applied before SST implementation during 2018. mine was applied after the SST implementation, thus the final installment amount was charged after few days the SST charged, so i request for cancel only if management can reserve the SST charges or else leave it for another year.

after a week later and saw account closed for the card in M2U. since the card is cancelled, will the outstanding will update CCRIS and incur any charges after due date since i cannot make payment to the card? should i wait for the next statement to see how?

just pay the outstanding, which is the final installment amount.

then call cs to check if anymore outstanding (or call first before payment)

if you're worried about ccris, shouldn't let your card left with any outstanding.

I also got 3 Account Closed card still in my account display for yearsss. lol.

Just request them to remove when I call to update my mailing address.

Yea, gotten rm26 cb but sst charged for rm25 for march 1st.
If my last usage is end Feb, can i still cut the card?

i got conflicting answers from CS (as usual):

1) can cancel the card and SST to be reversed (CS said "no problem" )

2) can cancel the card but must pay SST

I guess i will just keep the card for one more year then for any chunky payment. Though i recently gotten rhb shell visa, this card is basically useless now

Maybank policy a bit different, once SST charged u hardly get waiver even u cancel the card, subject to management approval.

MBB CS called me back.

their "subject matter expert" confirmed that SST can be reversed (after card termination) if NO RETAIL TRANSACTIONS performed after SST is charged.

Yes, this is the correct method. There is a SST guideline file shared somewhere previously. Unable to locate it now.
