Thank you for sharing your experience, fly126, cedyy, sj0217 and Human Nature.
What is the approval code for your Paywave transaction done through your HSBC card? VLPXXX (XXX being numbers), or 6-digit number?
Yes, that used to be the case, for the past few months.

However, when I paid for grocery in Aeon Supermarket via Visa Paywave transaction through Maybank Visa Signature Card last Friday (2 days ago), I did receive a SMS transaction alert for this transaction.

Logically speaking, Maybank may have finally implemented sending SMS transaction alerts for Visa Paywave transactions done via Maybank Visa Credit Cards.  hmm.gif

Did you try to request for AF  waiver?

I will not bother. Have been around long enough to know MBB's policies for AF. Better to cancel and reapply next time.

I see. Ok let me give them a call now. Thanks.

UPDATE: Called the CS and set the alert to RM1 which is the lowest.

Nope. By default SMS notification for all transaction is set at RM1k except for online transactions which is set at RM1. So you have to call and request to change all other transaction to RM1 as well.

Did my last transaction with my VS yesterday as my AF is due in May and I'm cancelling once I settle my statement balance. Will miss the convenience of petrol and groceries, which I never max out. But now just have to adapt spending habits by using PBB VS for groceries and MBB Amex for petrol on weekends.

Smart move, I just find out that my AF is due in May after I saw AF+GST shown in M2U.
I will cancel my VS after redeem my TreatPoints, just that CS told me that AF+GST waiver is "subject to management approval".
This answer makes me nervous blink.gif

We can apply Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan to continue enjoy the 5% CB on petrol.

Yes for both questions.

Hi Fruitie
Would you happen to have this statement verified by MBB, T&C or anything? I can't seem to find anything on their website on principal and supplementary combined spending if equates or more than RM50k, to get a waiver.

Much appreciated.
Thanks

Agreed - I would apply the same strategy like you. Always take advantage of benefits when they are around and then cancel if AF outweigh benefits.  innocent.gif
