I agreed with you when i received my Citibank last year, 2-3 times CL of Maybank CC. With additional advanced withdrawal limit also which i don't use. Citibank the most generous besides CIMB.
*
Yes this is exactly my experience - Maybank the most strict, while Citibank and CIMB super generous. For me, I have to request for CL limit increase from Maybank every year after I get my increment. Citibank will usually call and offer CL increases!

Yes u will, as long at the payment portal is overseas. I find this as a plus point compared to Ambank's WMC/VI which requires the card to be swiped overseas physically, online transaction is not valid.
*
Yeh - When I've exhausted my quota for online credit cards (such as CIMB CR and PBB VS), I will use my MBB VS on payment gateways like Paypal. For example, Lazada has a Paypal option (which is counted as foreign gateway), so you will get your 5x TPs even though your transaction is in RM.

Guys, I read first page and just noticed that groceries cash back only applicable for domestic. doh.gif Looks like I brought a wrong card here. I'm in India now and I would like to buy some groceries.

Any chance that I will get cash back? Just like M2Cards' dining cash back is supposedly for local transactions but people still got for overseas dining.

Wasn't sure about the answer to your question but did some thinking. For VS, they will probably record it as overseas transaction which is eligible for 5x TP and won't give the cashback as well. In contrast, PBB VS allows 6% cashback for overseas groceries, but no VIP points (which are quite worthless anyway).

Ridiculous to have double standard in minimum spending waiver
*
What's more ridiculous is that no one knows whats the true waiver condition that applies to them. This is even worse for people who received the card during the transition.

Its also very difficult to track the 50k, and they are not able to tell you if you call to ask.

I know my AF due date and will definitely cancel before then.

Hi everyone,

What falls under the 'spending' category? I have several huge transanctions a year although its mostly government related, do those fall under the 'spending' side of things for me to qualify for the annual fee waiver?
*
Yes, no restrictions on categories as far as I know. They just want you to spend on their card.

Applied for CL increase on 29 March - increased CL (RM10k) reflected on 31 March. Pretty fast!

Submitted what documents? Latest payslip only? You apply through M2U or email to them?
*

I believe email. Payslip will do. I usually submit 3 months.
*
I emailed 3 months payslips.

Last 2 weeks for me to use my VS. My annual fee is due in May, so I'll cancel in first week of May.

Love the card, but AF is ridiculous. Not much point keeping this card with the reinstatement of M2U Amex 5% week-end CB.

I will cancel early Sept as well. Sigh. Convenient to use lo.
*
Yeh but I think MBB is a bit strict with applying and reapplying. I managed to hit the RM50k for the previous 2 rounds so this is first time I'm cancelling the VS. Think I may have to wait 6 months to reapply.

Assuming that you cancel your Maybank Visa Signature Card on May 2017, you may reapply for the same card on November 2017.

If that is the case, do you still get free 1-year annual fee waiver for your Maybank Visa Signature Card, from November 2017 to October 2018?  hmm.gif

QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 13 2017, 09:53 PM)
Yes, that's the whole point for reapplying isn't it? laugh.gif
*
I hope so! But I'm not sure. I may end up not reapplying as I really hate annual fee cards. Can use my PBB VS to cover groceries, and just pump petrol on weekends with MBB Amex.

Yes, luckily we have other cards to cover. laugh.gif
The thing is I also don't spend a lot on this card except for TnG reloads at JG and occasionally groceries spending for my mum and pump petrol. The only thing I will miss is the convenience.
*
Yeh and the high monthly quota - I have only maxed out a few times in the past 4 years. Ive had this card since it was first introduced so I feel slightly nostalgic finally cancelling it. It was great at the time because was one of the few cards with unlimited lounge access for principals and supps, visa pay wave (and quite a lot of promotions for that) and free valet parking at loads of malls. Now none of those benefits exist anymore. Lousy.

Anyway, if Maybank still approves the card for you for the second time, you would definitely accept it, right? I would too. smile.gif
*
Yes for sure! And I like to keep a wide variety of cards just in case the terms and conditions change. For example if PBB VS suddenly pull the benefits, I will seriously have a hard time finding a replacement. So better to hold many cashback cards and always be prepared for sudden changes.

Did my last transaction with my VS yesterday as my AF is due in May and I'm cancelling once I settle my statement balance. Will miss the convenience of petrol and groceries, which I never max out. But now just have to adapt spending habits by using PBB VS for groceries and MBB Amex for petrol on weekends.

Did you try to request for AF  waiver?

I will not bother. Have been around long enough to know MBB's policies for AF. Better to cancel and reapply next time.

Smart move, I just find out that my AF is due in May after I saw AF+GST shown in M2U.
I will cancel my VS after redeem my TreatPoints, just that CS told me that AF+GST waiver is "subject to management approval".
This answer makes me nervous  blink.gif

We can apply Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan to continue enjoy the 5% CB on petrol.
*
I cancelled and no attempt to retain me.

Want to ask. I have been pumping petrol using my signature. However there is no cash back. I wondering why. Anyways do you guys know when they will credit the cash back after pumping petrol? End of the statement date?
*
If you pump in calendar month April, you will get cashback on 1 or 2 May. So, if you pumped anything in April you should have already gotten your cashback.

I think M2U AI (Artificial Intelligence) will reject if
* you are already a card customer, or
* over qualify, eg income >RM100k or >RM120k.

It may be easier to get a VI than VS!
*
Me too. I got mine via Pos Laju today. Applied online.

Anyone applied for Supp card for FCB? I got my principal already (applied M2U), but can't apply supp online as card doesn't show up on the online supp drop down menu (I can only see my Maybank2 cards on the application menu).

Also, the supp card application form (PDF) on the MBB website is very weird. It is like a fresh Principal application (i.e. you apply for Principal then you add Supl details). Its not for an existing Principal card, where you put in your Principal card number and just add your supp details and attach IC.

Anyone can share their experience?
